The Next Right = The Same Right

As Vice President-elect Joe Biden noted during the 2008 convention, the GOP continues to offer more of the same.

Chip Saltsman, a candidate for chairman of the Republican National Committee, sent committee members this month a holiday music CD that included “Barack the Magic Negro,” a parody song first aired in 2007 by talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

Until the Republican party kicks the racial habit, they’ll continue to be a minority monochromatic party from the south.

O-dub, I will take the slow easy pitch over the center of the plate and note that the racism of wingnut Republicans is not a bug but a core design feature; accordingly it cannot be engineered out, rather the entire design must be scrapped for them to make progress. Since they won’t do that, I am looking forward to the spectacle.

Their biggest nightmare: that America may never again WANT a “white” president. Consider: the economy prospered under Clinton, an alleged “first black president.” We had Reagan, Bush I and Bush the lesser. “White men” can (occasionally) jump; of late they just cannot govern.

    What a frigging moron.

Yes, it was originally applied to Obama by a columnist for the LA Times, who intended it in a praiseworthy way. (http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-oe-ehrenstein19mar19,0,5335087.story) It’s still frigging stupid to keep bringing it up.

Saltsman, I don’t give a rat’s ass if you’re really racist or not. Anyone who does something as frigging stupid as this should never hold any position of power or authority.

    J.

  3. old white guy says:

    Monochromatic? That means stupid, correct?

  4. Randy Brown says:

    MONOCHROMATIC?

The late Anna Russell, international concert comedienne, phrased it best 55 years ago in her piece “How to Write Your Own Gilbert & Sullivan Operetta”:

“…a homogenous chorus. Not ‘homogeneous’…homogenous, as in ‘MILK.’”

Meaning, white and bland as all hell. Just like the GOPukes.

  5. Amused Observer says:

“Meaning, white and bland as all hell. Just like the GOPukes”

    LOL,
By liberal standards it appears that we have a racist here.

Scratch a liberal and a coward bleeds.

  6. Quaker in a Basement says:

By liberal standards it appears that we have a racist here.

Not our fault, AO. We try to discourage you.

  7. Randy Brown says:

AO, are you saying that the GOP base is NOT white and bland as all hell?

You know what you can kiss, chump.

  8. Amused Observer says:

    RandyBrown,

No what I am saying is that you, Randy Brown, are making a demeaning comment slurring a group of people by race and political pursuasion. By progressive liberal standards that makes you an intolerant racist bigot.

Scratch a liberal and a coward bleeds.

Disingenuous as ever, J. Saltsman is your prototype modern era (since Nixon) Republican. Pretending otherwise is lame-o, lame-o.

  10. Repack Rider says:

Scratch a liberal and a coward bleeds.

AO, are you calling me a coward?

I doubt that you have the courage to say that to me in person. But if you do, I’ll tell you where you can come and say it to me.

Meet me at work. My job is moving pianos, and I’d like to see whether you can catch one if I throw it to you.

  11. C.S.Strowbridge says:

“By liberal standards it appears that we have a racist here.”

    Southern. Strategy.

Don’t like being called racist. Don’t belong to a racist organization.

  12. C.S.Strowbridge says:

“I doubt that you have the courage to say that to me in person.”

I don’t think I’ve seen him post multiple times in a thread where he hasn’t used “LOL” at least once. I doubt he’s old enough to vote.

  13. Sean D. Martin says:

CSS: don’t think I’ve seen him post multiple times in a thread where he hasn’t used “LOL” at least once.

Haven’t you noticed? “Scratch a liberal and a coward bleeds” is the new “LOL”.

It’s just easier for A0 to have a catch phrase than to actually, you know, think.

  14. Erik says:

The racist asshat card has been way overplayed by the Republicans. I’m sure it plays well with their base but for the rest of the nation, its tired and unwanted. The homophobia, the racism, the ugly hypocrisy is just kind of pathetic. I’d feel bad for them if they weren’t such unrepentant and unimaginative douchebags.

  15. C.S.Strowbridge says:

I can’t believe so many in the GOP are defending this crap. I don’t think there’s a political savvy argument one could make to defend this. Then again, the GOP have been anything but politically savvy for a few years now. They seemed to have peaked in 2004.

  16. Amused Observer says:

Laughing out loud at foolish liberal pretensions, intellectual dishonesty, economic ignorance, historical myopia, and racial hypocrisy. Or just LOL for short.

Sean, liberals in general don’t have the guts to make hard choices and do the tough things that must be done from time to time. They would prefer to suckle on the sugar tit of government largess and sacrifice individual freedom and liberty for the security of a welfare state.

Perhaps in women a certain degree of liberalism is to be expected, nurturing is in thier nature. They are not expected to actually go out and do the hard and dangerous things that civilization requires to survive in a tough world. But for a man, cognizent of history, it’s a pussy move.

  17. Duros 62 says:

Wow. Just…wow. Just when I think you’ve exhibited the penultimate of your douche-iness, you one up yourself. Kudos.

All hail AO, the newly crowned Presidente for Life of the People’s Republic of Asshatistan.

  18. C.S.Strowbridge says:

“But for a man, cognizent of history, it’s a pussy move.”

Wow. Good to see you are as sexist as you are racist. And you are as racist as you are immature.

This is why your party is in the minority now. And it will stay there for as long as people like you are their base.

  19. Amused Observer says:

    Oh my,
Our little group of progresives have gone to some lengths to validate my post.

So Randy Brown can make generalized slurs against people of caucasian extraction and I’m a racist. See hypocrisy above.

Our Canadian commentator fails to understand basic differences in human nature and biological roles between the sexes and I’m sexist. See ignorant above.

Duros crowns me Presidente for life, that reminds me of the comrade of leftist icon the vicious killer Che Guevra, and I’m immature. Another checkmark for hypocrisy.

A strong nation can withstand myopic liberalism, for a while. The pendulum swings both ways, but we suffer the degradation of our national charactor through the ratchet effect. We see that in the ever increasing size of the government welfare state. Liberals sacrifice freedom and liberty through thier desire for an all encompassing nanny government to protect them from the pitfalls of life and make everything all right. The over riding concept liberals fail to grasp is there ain’t no free lunch.

  20. Duros62 says:

    Another checkmark for hypocrisy.
That was a joke, son. Pay attention, boy, ya missed, I say ya missed it.

  21. Bruce Henry says:

On the plus side, AO has finally learned to spell “sugar.”
Next spelling word to master: “cognizant.”
    Then, “largesse.”
    Who knows, after that?

  22. Amused Observer says:

    Thanks for your concern Brucie,
New hard drives that don’t have a handy spell check installed yet. I know how to spell naive though, L-I-B-E-R-A-L.

  23. Duros62 says:

If anything, AO, my reference to El Presidente was a shout out to one of your personal heroes, Augusto Pinochet.

Do you know how to spell FAIL, lunchbox?

  24. Amused Observer says:

I’m not really much of a Pinochet fan but I bet you have a soft spot for Hugo Chavez, probably Che Guevara too.

You have a bit of a mixed metaphor going on. El Prsidente has that South America thing , peoples republic is more a of Chicom reference while Asshatistan is an Muslim bit. Very cosmopolitan of you.

FYI, fail is spelled the same way as naive.

  25. Bruce Henry says:

    I don’t have spell check either. I p-r-o-o-f-r-e-a-d.

  26. Amused Observer says:

Good for you Brucie, I type fast and use spellcheck. So what’s your opinion on Chavez, he seems like just your style.

  27. Sean D. Martin says:

Amused 0: New hard drives that don’t have a handy spell check installed yet.

Amused 0, 4 hours 31 minutes later: I type fast and use spellcheck

So did you get it installed in the last few hours, or were you lying on of those times?

  29. Duros62 says:

    Like I said, AO, it’s a joke.

I know, neocons don’t do humor.
