When you give up arguing with someone that you haven’t convinced, that proves you have character and integrity.
Well, that’s about as clear as mud, but I’m still having trouble with you accusing Oliver and “Stroke” of changing their principles and standards of behaviour as often as you change your socks. Unless you haven’t changed your socks since 2002.
By the way, a commenter on Wizbang used almost exactly the same quote on some rant this morning.
Did you plagiarize him, or did he plagiarize you, or do you post on a non-Bible based screen name over there?

In the context you would most understand, character exhibits in that moment when I realize I am arguing with a lost cause who, no matter how hard or earnestly I try, I will never sway from his sadly irrational stance.

The worst part of it is that the lost cause in question invariably interprets this silence as proof of victory, rather than a realization that I’ve decided my time can be better spent elsewhere.

But a man of character and integrity can shoulder the knowledge that sometimes a fool can’t be made to understand.

Please tell us, Man Of Character Matt621, how You set Yourself apart from “Stroke” and Oliver.
Please enlighten us as to how we can live a Life of Integrity, embodying the Unchanging Principles You hold dear.
Please give examples of how “Stroke” and Oliver are always changing their Standards of Behavior as often as You change Your socks.
It must be great to be an iron-willed, iron-jawed, TrueBlueAmerican conservative who never needs a helping hand, from the dadgum Gummint or anyone else.
It must be great to be able to see, oh so clearly, the clear and present danger that Demislamunistofascism presents to the Free World.
We already know You have the AllAmericanWherewithal to save up a shitload of money just as easy as pie. So what other examples of Your Own Integrity can You give us?

On a case by case basis? When you KNOW the guy you’re accusing tossed around the “treason” charge? Absolutely.

As a general rule? I wouldn’t recommend it. It was stupid for those who casually tossed it around, and that shouldn’t be emulated.

No. No you will not. Going after Obama will be a sign of fair-minded patriotism, and Obama will not be the Commander In Chief — as a Democrat, he cannot properly hold that title.

Instead he will be relabeled “Destroyer of the Military” just like Bill Clinton was so harshly blamed for the tiny force and base reductions started by Bush Sr., because, hey, obviously it was just craaaaazy to think that after the Soviet Union collapsed we could maybe save some money on WWII era nonfunctional bases.
