Something just doesn’t seem right about this whole deal with Jackson Jr. Why would Blago have covert conversations about offers that Jackson’s people made if they were not true? Why would he lie if he wasn’t even aware that his conversations were being tapped? I think Jesse Jr. is lying his ass off in an effort to save his political future. Congress should at the very least launch a congressional ethics investigatoin into Jackson’s conduct.

A few years ago, there was a big surge in “STOP SNITCHING” t-shirts in Boston, pushed mainly by gangs. It got so bad that people were wearing them into court, until judges ordered them removed (the shirts or the people).

“Snitching” should be honored and respected. That it has become a mark of shame in some communities is in itself disgraceful.

If, indeed, JJ Jr. has been cooperating with the FBI for years (and voluntarily, not because they had him on the hook for some offense of his own), then he has done us all a service and should be lauded. If he helped bring down a hideously corrupt figure, then he deserves credit, not scorn.

If, instead, he was “flipped” after getting caught in some wrongdoing, and helped get Blagojevich to save his own ass, then that ought to be revealed — but no charges, if that was the deal.
