Trade ya Zorn for Jim Mora, straight-up?
Deal?
Stupid is as stupid does.
What I like about sports is that it’s a proud member of the reality-based community. As Bill Parcells observed, “You are what your record says you are.” Unlike the Bush Administration, let’s say, bad decisions do have consequences. There is accountability.
The Oakland Raiders are a bad team because of the stupid decisions Al Davis made. The Detroit Lions are a bad team because of the stupid decisions Matt Millen made. The Dallas Cowboys are a bad team in because of the stupid decisions Jerry Jones made.
You see where I’m going with this, right?
In spite of his Steinbrenner-sized delusions of grandeur, Danny Boy isn’t going to buy the Washington Redskins a Super Bowl, no matter how much money he invests in his team. If Snyder ran the business that made him rich the same way he ran the Redskins, he wouldn’t be able to afford to buy a football jersey.
If Snyder had any sense, he’d put his vainglorious hubris aside and observe how Robert Kraft transformed the New England Patriots. Other than signing a paycheck when appropriate, Kraft puts smart people in charge of his team (Pioli, Belicheck) and stays the hell out of the way. Remember, the Pats were an embarrassment to the NFL before Kraft got there, and he made his team better by making decisions based on logic and by being patience. Conversely, Jerry Jones made the Cowboys worse by hiring an used jock strap of a coach, because he wanted an gutless Igor who does what he’s told to do. Good luck with that 1.3 billion dollar stadium, Jerry.
They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. As long as intrusive owners make stupid decisions, don’t expect to win too many football games. You are what your record says you are.
It’s stupid to believe otherwise.
Hey, you lost to us. But at least your owner wants to win and isn’t afraid to spend money to win. Our owner is content with 1-11-1 and is committed to running this team as cheaply as possible. 1 winning season in 19 years.
You’ve won some superbowls, you’ll get over this season, we won’t.
You’ve won some superbowls
17 long years ago.
Too late for the Lions to schedule the Skins for a late pickup game? They’ve lost to the Rams and the Bengals, why not turn the hat trick?
Jerry Jones has just as many Super Bowl rings as Robert Kraft.
Mike Wise writes the column I would have written in today’s WaPo.

Again, at least your owner wants to win. When you’re endured the pain of 20 years as a Bengals fan, come talk to me.
Dan made his money using highly leveraged money. Jerry Jones made his money from selling cars.
What are the odds that both franchises will go bust in 09?
the cowboys are 9-5, d.r. scott.
