I feel kind of sorry for Blackwell. In the 2006 Ohio gubernatorial race, he couldn’t even get 40% of the vote against a non-incumbent in a Republican-leaning state ( and yes, I believe that characterization of that state is accurate even with Obama’s win over McCain there).
