Obama And Clinton Know It Isn’t About Them — Who Will Tell The Media?

Almost every story about Obama nominating Clinton to be his secretary of state has focused on their relationship, but I really wish they would write and report about the job itself. Bush has seriously wrecked the authority of America in the world, and Secretary Rice is just another one of his yes-men who really has no credibility in the international arena due to the failed presidency she’s worked for. From one side of the world to the other, Sen. Clinton will have to work to fulfill the Obama administration’s stated goal of restoring American dignity on the global stage.

That’s far more pressing than the latest “Ooooooooo drama!” story.

The media is too hoooked on WB/CW-type drama to pay attention to the truly important issues. All this Gossip Girl nonesense is really annoying.

I think the reporting on what they will do will come but for now, the dynamic, or perceived dynamic, of Obama’s and Clinton’s relationship is a valid story. How it plays out and with President Clinton in the mix, is going to be fascinating.

I agree Oliver and the whole team of rivals crap is so dumb too. The country and the world is melting around us but the media does not provide any context to the problems at all. Instead, its drama and drama with no real basis in fact.
