  1. I’ve long asserted that Hitchens should have dumped the title “God is Not Great” from his recent best-seller and called it “God Is Dead, and I’m So Goddamn Hung Over I Wish I Were Too”.

That made me laugh, Gene. Thanks.

How can I get a job being independently wealthy with a national platform upon which to spout my personal delusions?

I’m not a Hillary fan, but this guy makes us all look bad. I rather expected him to turn to the bucket at any moment. He looked ragged!

He may or may not be drunk but I don’t see many problems with what he actually said.

‘Barack Obama has picked someone who will always be thinking about something else as well as her job. That’s not a left-or-right question.’
Suggesting her first priority might be her 2016 prospects over the country or the administration. Makes sense to me.

Saying Hillary doesn’t really have much foreign-policy experience was ok to say during the nomination, but not now ?

    I don’t get it.

    LOL,

Hitchins may drink but that was a sobering interview. Obama had a choice, bring Hillary aboard and try to neutralize her politically or keep her outside and let her build strength at his expense when ever there is an inevitable slip in his administration. The price you pay for Hillary is Bill.

Hitchins sees the Clintons for what they are. Bill is a disbarred, impeached, lecher who sold presidential favors for money. No one can deny that with a straight face. Hillary is an extremely ambitious politician who lies with a lawyer’s cunning whenever it suits her.

Hitchins is a problem for progressives.= He is one of the more intelligent men of the left but he is independent and has a strong sense of honor and intellectual honesty. Unusual traits for liberals who don’t often stray from the accepted groupthink. Ollie libels Hitchins with deliberate provocation but offers little to refute the brits basic premise.

It is always so charming to see these two members of the he-man woman haters club, and I might add two of the most relentless self promoters in that club, criticize Senator Clinton for just possibly having, and exhibiting, self interest. OMG!!How very shocking of her.

    It’s called running a campaign.

  8. Jaim says:

I like Hitch but man, he isn’t even trying to hide his alcoholism any more.

So was it lying then or is it lying now? I don’t think Obama has much trouble straying from the truth, evidently you don’t either.

  10. Felix Helix says:

Oliver’s title for this display of wanton Hitchensry is ill-chosen, because it is so irrelevant. What on earth has alcoholism, actual or assumed, got to do with political opinions? Granted, people get stupid when they’re drunk, but I don’t think they start swinging in a different direction.

Hitchens is a sad, pathetic assclown, and I’m sorry but neither Oliver nor Hitch nor anyone else gets to blame that on the booze. He gets all the credit, if you want to call it that.

I will say this about Mr. Hitchens: for whatever reason, he is certainly a moist man. I have never seen him without wanting someone to wipe his brow, though I’m not sure it would do any good. He looks like he’s drowning. Probably because he is.

plus he never washes his hair.
