		<description>There&#039;s a parallel here. Lincoln&#039;s Sec. of State William Seward was his chief rival for the Republican nomination for the presidency in 1860 - more experienced than Lincoln but without the crazy good smarts and communication skills. 

But other than that, yeah, it&#039;s a little crazy. They were, as you say, extremely close in much of their programs. Let him take office before you start with the Lincoln comparisons.</description>
