David Gregory New Host Of Meet The Press= Epic Fail

David Gregory, the guy who whitewashed press complicity in the Iraq War, danced to Hilary Duff and with Karl Rove, is now the moderator of the most influential news show in the country. Suck.

We need Jeremy Paxman here in America.

Paxman is good, but try John Simpson as well. I can’t remember which one asked Kissinger if he felt he should hand back his Nobel peace prize, but that was a great moment. Also look up when Paxman was forced by the producers of Newsnight to sum up the Weather for the next day. I think it lasted about a week.

On an unrelated topic, I wonder if W will continue the trend for issuing some pardons, like Dad and William did. If so, how many? There are a great many people in line for this prestigious award, no? It also follows that there is some sort of book being run (spread bet on how many, plus actual recipients, much like we have a bet on the colour of the Queens hat on ladies day at Ascot races and the first person to dance the jig with the FA cup on their head).

    LOL CONVENTIONAL MEDIA.

Russert was incredibly over-rated. His tragic death aside, I couldn’t believe how people thought of him as a “great journalist.” Dude was a light-weight who built his career on who he knew rather than what he knew. Granted, this is the way most journalists operate these days, espeically the ones on television.

David Gregory is now worse or better. Paid flack. Will suck up to power as much as possible. Will spout platitudes about America being “center-right” and the need for “bipartisanship” yadda yadda.

Thing is, who really cares what these people say any longer? There are much better sources out there for both news and opinion. Mainstream Media is the next Recording Industry. It’s just not needed any longer.

    Should have been Helen Thomas.

  6. Hey – hands off Paxman – he’s ours! Funny how an ‘official’ tv station can produce better agents for telling ‘truth to power’. I wonder why that is?
