Finally, A Reason To Cross Party Lines

If, God forbid, Chris Matthews runs for senate and wins the Dem primary, I think I’ll support and donate to Arlen Specter. We have more than enough idiots in congress as is.

Well, look at it from a purely analytical perspective. If Matthews wins, it’s solid proof that name recognition trumps everything.

  2. Duros62 says:

And on the bright side, he won’t be on TV.

  3. Max Udargo says:

Why would Matthews want to share the floor with 99 other people? He won’t even let the guests on his show get a word in. Does he think it’s going to work that way if he serves in the Senate? Only on Hardball does the world revolve around Chris Matthew’s ego.

Well, if he did win we would always know who to go to if we needed a filibuster.

  4. Jaim says:

As I mentioned on my blog, when I heard he might run I’d assumed it would be as a Republican. Who could ever have told he was a Democrat?

  5. daniel rotter says:

I really hope that the Pennsylvania Democratic Party honchos seriously discourage Matthews from running. The man is downright weird.

“Only on Hardball does the world revolve around Chris Matthew’s ego”.

You think Matthews has an ego problem, what about Bill O’Lielly (just check out the title of his recent book)? Well, at least O’Lielly has no plans (not yet, anyway) to run for public office.

  7. Jaim:
Tweety did once work for Tip O’Neill. He was also a speech writer for Jimmy Carter while he was President. Hard to believe, I know.

You’re an idiot. Am I reading OliverWillis.com? I don’t think I’m on a site where people don’t know the dumbest Democrat is ten times better that the best Republican.

  9. durablend says:

Especially weird since his brother ran for lieutenant governor on the Republican ticket (with that football player turned wannabe game show host)

  10. thebewilderness says:

I think you will find that the world being expected to revolve around the ego is the one thing the Senator has in common with the Talking Head.

  11. [...] some blogs gets what should be a disappointing response for Matthews. An Obamista says it’s finally a reason for him to cross party lines and vote for Specter. Another blogger who claims that he left the Democrats because Pelosi and Reid [...]

  12. Lib4 says:

As a PA resident and card carrying liberal democrat, there is no way in hell I am voting for the man with the Aryan school master haircut.

    Gimme Specter

  13. Quaker in a Basement says:

I was going to try a joke that the election of Matthews to the Senate would be a great step forward for Imbecile-Americans.

But that doesn’t really work, does it? He wouldn’t exactly be breaking any new ground.

  14. [...] of Chris Matthews running for Senator in Pennsylvania in 2010, Oliver Willis has what I feel is the correct reaction. If, God forbid, Chris Matthews runs for senate and wins the Dem primary, I think I’ll support [...]

  15. Parthenon says:

When he’s the one being interviewed, rather than interviewing or doing his show, he doesn’t seem quite so dumb. Just sayin’.

  16. daniel rotter says:

I’ve heard that Matthews voted for Bush in 2000. Can this be confirmed? If true, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party should know about this. Can you imagine a Gore-voting Republican running for the U.S. Senate getting the support of his state party?
