Bad news for those of us who like watching the GOP dig themselves deeper holes post election: Fred Thompson will not run for RNC chair. That probably means we won’t get the pleasure of a cornpone southern idiot who loves mugging for the camera saying the most uninspiring things as the head of a regional, almost marginalized party.
But I still have hope. They could pick the minority candidate who’s never done anything besides dancing for the cameras…
They could pick the minority candidate whose never done anything besides dancing for the cameras…
Just in case this makes it to memeorandum and since you’re calling someone a cornpone southern idiot, you might want to change the whose to who’s.
Only trying to help; I don’t particularly enjoy seeing people dig deeper holes myself.
Concern Troll is concerned.
Whose a concern troll, Duros?
Clearly my misspelling changes the fact that Fred Thompson is a cornpone southern idiot. Except it doesn’t.
I say we force Rush to be in charge so we can expose him as the fool he is.
OW: Clearly my misspelling changes the fact that Fred Thompson is a cornpone southern idiot.
Clearly? Who suggested that? Dennis only pointed out that if you’re calling someone an idiot you might not like to look ignorant yourself. Don’t see attacks where they don’t exist as it diminishes your credibility.
Conversely, don’t fall prey to misdirection.
I can’t believe I’m actually coimng to the defense of Michael Steele, but on paper, he is qualified to RNC Chair.
As i understand it, he was chairman of his county GOP in MD and state chair as well. Which means he was better suited for RNC chair back when he was passed over by Mel Martinez.
Conversely, don’t fall prey to misdirection.
Duros, if you appreciate irony, misdirect yourself down to the picture still on this webpage of the gentleman holding up the ‘Get a Brain, Morans’ sign.
Yeesh, all this over spelling quibbles. We could all use a secretary, eh?
Regarding Fred – blowhard, perhaps, but idiot’s a bit of a stretch. I don’t prefer his politics but cat’s got a J.D. from Vandy, come on…
And George Bush has an MBA from Harvard. Sometimes the pieces of paper can’t hid the Duh.
“And George Bush has an MBA”
LOL,
Quite possibly he’s a lot smarter than you give him credit for. Fred Thompson is certainly not the idiot you make him out to be. In the great big real world comic books are for kids.
Amused 0: Quite possibly he’s a lot smarter than you give him credit for.
And quite possibly pigs can fly. But there certainly hasn’t been much evidence to suggest it.
Fred Thompson is certainly not the idiot you make him out to be.
He didn’t do himself any favors on the campaign trail, but I’ll spot you that one.
In the great big real world comic books are for kids.
Final tally: Amused 0 is wrong 2 out of 3 times.
“And George Bush has an MBA”
Oh yeah, that’s right. He was gonna be the first “CEO President.”
How’d that work out?
I second the Rush nomination.
Also, too, and besides, it is way too late to worry about the spelling when the substance is vapid.
Srsly, Thompson or Steele, Thompson or Steele, who could possibly choose between two such perfect examples of asshattery.
If the Republicans hadn’t been trying to disenfranchise me for the past sixty years I would feel a bit of sympathy for the party of Lincoln.
Oh yeah, that’s right. He was gonna be the first “CEO President.”
How’d that work out
Actually, not a whole lot worse than most other CEO’s with even better educational credentials these past four years.
Thing is, as a ‘CEO’, he couldn’t fire these guys, the ones in charge when the shit hit the fan. Most voters didn’t know they were even in charge. Nice rope-a-dope strategy they managed to pull off.
Ahh, Michael Steele. Yet another black Marylander who chooses to be a GOP “House Negro,” along with Alan Keyes – and who, like Keyes, will never win elected office under his own name.
Meanwhile, we “Field Negroes” are laughing at Steele’s clueless ass.
OW, I’m with you partially. A hot shot degree from Vandy or Harvard doesn’t make you qualified to be president (that should be more obvious now than ever), but it probably means you’re not an idiot – it’s not the paper; it’s that you had to pass the courses to get the paper.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that I think the common perception of President Bush’s dopeyness is probably overstated, helped along by a media narrative created by his verbal clumsiness and a general ignorance when he took office (the foreign leader pop quiz sprung on him by a journalist, etc.). His presidency has been a failure, but that doesn’t make him stupid.
What prompts me to dismiss people like WPE as idiots isn’t so much their inability to learn, which is stupidity, as their willful ignorance and incurious uninformed arrogance.
This man, W, brags about being a C student. That, in and of itself, is an indication that he is a painfully stupid man.
Dennis: Thing is, as a ‘CEO’, he couldn’t fire these guys, the ones in charge when the shit hit the fan.
Dennis, once again clearly demonstrating his complete lack of ability to think for himself, being only able to echo what he’s been told.
