“HUMBLE SERVANT OF THE ONE THAT IS, AND I BOW DOWN TO WORSHIP HIM, OUR LORD, OUR GOD” quote Saint Nicholas the fir tree is but a symbol of mans faith the needles point to heaven how is it an evergreen stays green all year long God’s everlasting love, a wreath never ending love and eternal life God give’s us, Santa isn’t pagan he was a monk lucky us he gave all our money away now that was cruel to his family, however he lived everyday of his life like it was Christmas, generosity and kindness. I guess having that as your motto having kindness and generosity to your fellow man and loving thy neighbor as you love thyself is only practiced by Christians, huh no wonder there is so many jewish communities gathering toys for guess what MERRY CHRISTMAS for the needy Children here, hum I guess that’s not the reason. I believe the news said Christmas season and that was from the jewish lady being interviewed on the TV.

I worked at a gas station and in this area we had jewish, muslims, non christian and christians come into the store and I’ll never forget I wished Merry Christmas to my regular customer who was jewish and his response was Happy Hanukah my response was thank you. what’s wrong with the proper response as I and my customer knew that we were wishing each other a blessed season of good will unto man just in our own religion. was it wrong for us to exchange good will gestures as he knew I was celebrating Christmas he even said he liked my hat I was wearing a Santa hat which I wore from day after Thanksgiving to Christmas day, oh and by the way it wasn’t Christmas or Hanukah yet when we wished each other these blessings it was the beginning of December.We were not offending each other I wasn’t offended and he wasn’t. He left with a smile he couldn’t get over my hat and he continued to return.It’s all about good will.

Merry Christmas is merely another phrase meant to wipe out Christianity in America. While our founding fathers were mainly Christian(there may be an exception I’m not aware of), apparently no one else can.

What is more obnoxious: Lite-FM stations that play Xmas music 24/7 starting the weekend before Thanksgiving, or the people who insist on listening to that shit?

Eh, even the RNC recognizes that it's not necessary to say "Merry Christmas" when you don't know if all of your audience is Christian. They sign off their fundraising appeals with "Happy Holidays!"

Syco: nt everyone celebrates Christmas so saying Merry Christmas to everyone would be stupid

Well, I’m less likely to say it to Moses Goldstein or Mohammed bin Ahmad. I’d likely wish them a Happy Hanukkah or عيد الأضحى ‘Īd al-’Aḍḥā at the appropriate times.

But not knowing the particular beliefs of most of the people I might encounter, I’d still wish them a “Merry Christmas”. It’s wishing they have a pleasant day, and even for those who don’t celebrate it it’s a holiday day off from work in the US, and there is nothing wrong in wishing them the equivalent of “hope you enjoy the day off”.

But whether you might choose to say it to a particular person or not, the question is has anyone ever been told they can’t?
