Link: “‘It may sound a bit crazy and off base, but the thing is, he’s the one who proposed this national security force,’ Rep. Paul Broun said of Obama in an interview Monday with The Associated Press. ‘I’m just trying to bring attention to the fact that we may — may not, I hope not — but we may have a problem with that type of philosophy of radical socialism or Marxism.’”

Ugh…I read this article in the paper this morning. Thank you Paul Broun for reminding me, once again just how ignorant people in this state are. I love how he says Obama wants to do the exact same thing as Hitler did “but I’m not comparing him to Hitler”.
Effing idiot.
We’re gonna need Reality-Based push back from the likes of Media Matters somethin’ awful for the next 4 to 8 to foreseeable years.
I’d love to drop this guy into Moscow in 1917 and see if he still thinks the President Elect is such a Marxist.
From the ABC page (comment):
The problem is that, with Bush, it turned out not to be a “deragement” or a “syndrome.” At the end of the day, everything we on the left predicted about Bush really did come true. He really was incompetent. he really did lie us into war. He really did read our email and post and listen to our phone calls without warrants. He really did balloon the debt. He really did appoint incompetent cronies (see: Brownie, etc.). He really did sink America’s stature abroad to it’s lowest point in history. He really did trash the environment. On all these things… he really did them. That doesn’t make his 2000 critics “deranged,” it makes them prescient and 100% correct.
Says it perfectly
I want all these repubs put on the record calling Eisenhower a commie for his 91 percent top tax rate and Nixon a commie for his 70 percent top tax rate. These retards think Reagan founded this country
I keep telling y’all, it’s a fundamental problem of illiteracy. Some Republicans quite clearly can’t read more than two sentences at once. They’re capable of reading, “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded,” at the end of Obama’s speech. But by then their poor little brains have leaked out the three paragraphs that explained what the “civilian national security force” would be (AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, Foreign Service, a new ‘Energy Corps’) and all they have is “our military … national security force” and they’re sincerely freaked out. Hey, if that was all I’d gotten from Obama’s speech, I might be worried too.
As part of improving our communities, let’s get these Republicans up to reading whole paragraphs by 2012!
“It may sound a bit crazy and off base…”
Then you should shut the fuck up, Jay Tea. … Wait, sorry.
Then you should shut the fuck up, Congressman Paul Broun.
Some Republicans quite clearly can’t read more than two sentences at once.
To be perfectly fair, I also have trouble reading two sentences at once. I prefer them one at a time.
Is Rep. Broun aware that the black helicopters fly without making a sound? That they’re in your backyard before you….
What? That’s not for public release?
Strange weather we’re having, isn’t it?
