You know what the difference is between you and me?
I make this look good.
Oliver, this is off topic, but I saw a webcomic (after following a link from Ta-Nehisi’s blog and going forward a few days) that you might like, given that it’s both a Superman nod and perhaps an Obama nod, though I guess the eyeglasses make it not work quite as well:

How awkward President Bush looks, standing next to the guy who just spent two years saying how much he sucked and preparing to take a whiteout pen to half his presidency.
Man, talk about Power Couple. The Obamas are so tall and handsome.
Nice dress, Michelle! They look so youthful next to those other two.
You don’t have one of the pictures I really liked. The picture of the President-elect coming off the plane with teh sunglasses on. He looks like the freakin’ Terminator. Awesome.
Caption for picture #3: “Seriously, man. What the fuck were you thinking?”
Also — I know she’s wearing heels, but seeing Michelle next to George W makes literal the phrase “the incredible shrinking president.”
Not surprised you’d endorse trashing the Constitutionally-mandated date of January 20, Oliver.
Bush has been very gracious and cooperative to Obama since the election. No surprise that you’d ignore that, and instead use it for more shots at Bush.
J.
Grace and cooperation have never been associated with Bush. Stop kidding yourself.
Jaytea, to quote Chris Rock:
You want to give Bush credit for doing what he’s supposed to do. That he’s doing it after 8 years of not doing it is no reason to kiss the man’s ass.
“Not surprised you’d endorse trashing the Constitutionally-mandated date of January 20, Oliver.”
I hope this is your attempt at humor.
“Bush has been very gracious and cooperative to Obama since the election. No surprise that you’d ignore that, and instead use it for more shots at Bush.”
Fuck Bush. The man should be in jail, or dead. I’m not kidding. I’ve read reports that Bush wanted to deny medical treatment to prisoners at Gitmo. If that is true, if, then that’s a war crime punishable by death.
I don’t think it is humanly possible for Bush to do enough to repair his reputation enough to give him credit for such minor bullshit.
Seriously, what did you expect Bush to do? Tell Obama he had to use the back exit?
Bush has been very gracious and cooperative to Obama since the election. No surprise that you’d ignore that, and instead use it for more shots at Bush.
That’s really funny Jay Tea, coming from someone who’s already on record as telling Obama what he ought to do, not about policy even, but about a private family decision:
http://wizbangblog.com/content/2008/11/08/a-dogs-breakfast.php
How gracious of you, Jay Tea, to tell Obama what’s best for his children.
And, of course, there’s so much grace in this post of yours, Jay Tea, in which you imagine the future after just ten months (1) of an Obama presidency. You know, the prediction that ended:
I mean, I am in awe at the spirit of grace and cooperation required to imagine that in ten months Obama would make the world a “much, much scarier place.” And this was even before the election.
On election night you posited this “nightmare scenario”:
And then there was this from the day after the election:
It really is amazing that you could be so magnanimous a day after such an electoral trouncing and over two months before Obama even took office.
Jay Tea, either there are two of you out there on the internets or it is absolutely impossible for you be personally embarrassed.
I can only imagine, from the sad glimpses of your personal life that you’ve included in your blog posts, that it’s the latter.
JT: No surprise that you’d ignore that, and instead use it for more shots at Bush.
Do I really have to compile a list of the facts you’ve ignored just to take shots at Obama?
fafaroo, it was called “getting it out of my system.” My nightmare never came true, I vented a bit, and in general indulged myself and exorcised some demons, or whatever you want to call it.
Sean, Bush is on his way out. Obama’s on his way in. I’m anticipating four years of rich material — the blogger version of a “target-rich environment.”
And so far, I’m not disappointed…
J.
Wow Jay, did you just make an argument that OW was “trashing” the Constitution by joking that a president more unpopular than Carter might be better off leaving early?
“Trashing” the Constitution?
Have you been awake for the past seven years? Illegal rendition? American citizens stripped of their Constitutional rights? Illegal wire-tapping?
Have fun arguing that Obama shouldn’t have the executive authority that you had such a tiny little hard-on for Bush II having.
“fafaroo, it was called “getting it out of my system.’”
Well, this is a pathetic rationale even by your standards, Jay Tea. You have proven beyond a doubt that you are, indeed, beyond public embarrassment.
“And so far, I’m not disappointed…”
Naturally, with such rich targets to discuss as the Obama family’s choice of dog. I can’t wait for your follow up to your first post on the subject in which you breathlessly accuse Obama of either
1) Ignoring the health of his own children over politically expedient symbolism
or
2) The worst sort of elitism for choosing a pure breed show dog.
Either way, you will tell us, Obama’s choice of dog confirms that he will make the world a much, much more dangerous place.
Yup. It’s good times ahead for idiots.
JT: Sean, Bush is on his way out. Obama’s on his way in.
And that has just what, exactly, to do with your hypocrisy in complaining about people taking shots at Bush while continuing to take soley-partisan-motivated ones at Obama?
I’m anticipating four years of rich material — the blogger version of a “target-rich environment.”
Yep, I can just imagine the fun the last of the dead-enders will be having:
Jay T.: Know what kinda dog the Obambis are gonna get?
Jay C.: heh, no
Jay T.: Chelsea Clinton!
Jay Burd: Ha, that’s funny
Jay C.: Good one, Jay, wish I’d thoughta that.
Jay T: Heh
Jay Walker: should a said Snoop Dogg. It would a been funnier.
Knock yourself out, boys.
“fafaroo, it was called ‘getting it out of my system.’ My nightmare never came true, I vented a bit, and in general indulged myself and exorcised some demons, or whatever you want to call it.”
I would call it acting like a fucking ass.
“Sean, Bush is on his way out. Obama’s on his way in. I’m anticipating four years of rich material — the blogger version of a ‘target-rich environment.’”
You are such a fucking moron. If you think Obama will be half as bad as Bush, you should be locked away in a mental institute. It’s an embarrassment to the human race that people read your blog and think your are right.
“And so far, I’m not disappointed…”
Of course not, Obama is a Democrat, therefore you disagree with what Obama said. It has nothing to do with Obama’s choices, and everything to do with your ideological blindness.
Umm… What’s with all of the warnings on this page? Did I do that?

I love reading Jay’s blog. Over here, he makes an attempt at being civil. Over there he gets to unleash the full-on snarling vince-foster, obama-is-islamofacist, liberal-Soros-media wingnuttery.

I’ve popped over there on rare occasions when someone has mentioned a specific post to see, but haven’t visited nearly enough to get any sense for the tone or type of comments used there.
That said, I find it interesting that there may be a significant difference. If you’re so sure of your opinions, why a need to change how you state them based on venue? It’s the bully who talks tough in front of the home crowd (”I’m gonna go over ta his house an’ bust him up!”) and then takes a significantly different tone when actually confronted with those who don’t blindly accept whatever he says (knocks on the door and when it’s answered says only “Hey, knock it off” before running away).

You gulped and regurgitated like a epileptic pornstar every White House / wingnut talking point about Iraq, Guantanamo, domestic surveillance and now you bring up the Constitution. You also get fashion tips from a man wearing a clown nose & fruit hat.
You know Senator, I voted for you.
If you think Obama will be half as bad as Bush, you should be locked away in a mental institute.
The dog they eventually pick wouldn’t be half as bad as Bush.
I for one am glad the person getting the job has actually read the Constitution and understands it.
