And for our part on the left, just off the top of my head I’ll say that I want Obama to regularly schedule press conferences, and to remain as open as possible with the public about what the heck our government is up to (I think its a given that come January WhiteHouse.gov will have a blog). That said, the Obama folks have proven they know how to deal with the press – so having more press avails doesn’t mean they rescind the arms-length approach to the media and find alternative paths to get their message out beyond the filter.
I also want to be ambassador to Jamaica or Bermuda or something.
Speaking of ambassadors, it would be nice if Obama appointed Bill Clinton to be the Ambassador to Canada. We Canadians suffered under the Bush years too and this would be a good way to start making amends. Plus, it would make our own right whingers howl.

Actually I think his ego is what would make the offer enticing. Clinton is more respected in Canada than he is in the US. Aside from that, it’s time for the US left to start paying back all their global allies that have helped them fight Bush.

I think Clinton would make a find ambassador to Canada. I simply think he wants something bigger. What that is, I don’t know.

Watch the outrage from the RW hypocrite brigade if and when Obama and a Dem Congress attempt to execute the following Bush era activities:
1. The use of Exectutive SIGNING STATEMENTS
2. JUDGES (The LW members of congress approved 85% of Bush’s nominations, the most ever…many of these appts were for overtly RW judges….lets see the hand wringing the Repub Senators will give Obama for his more liberal appts)
3. UP or DOWN Vote and the use of the Filibuster
4. Recess Appointments
5. Patriot Act provisions and Privacy issues at large – this will intersect nicely with the RW love of their precious 2nd Amendment rights
I too agree that Obama needs to publicize weekly the undoing of all the objectionable Bush Admin acts over the course of 8 years
This includes everything from the assault on the EPA and OSHA to the heartless assualt on programs like SCHIP and the 21st Century GI Bill
Pubicizing these acts will serve two purposes
1. It will show the American people that he is working on their behalf
2. Expose the depths to which the Bush Admin sold this country out to corproate interest to the detriment of the health and safety of the American people.
I have every faith the Obama team will craft a streamlined messaging system to get this info thru to the public…..MSM be damned
I hope that Obama has too much respect for the First Amendment to nominate Hillary Clinton to the Supreme Court. Even Scalia recognizes that flag-burning is Constitutionally protected expressive activity, but Clinton doesn’t. Anyone more conservative than Scalia about the First Amendment should not be an Obama nominee.
