Fast forward to April 2009.

I really hope that the GOP runs Gov. Jindal in 2012. Jindal is a social conservative with no regard for bodily privacy nor the 8th Amendment, but he’s very smart and competent and would give Obama a run for his money, without rousing the tribalistic impulses among certain Republicans that Palin does. I don’t worry about Jindal’s rhetoric bringing on an assassination attempt.

I like having a competent opposition that is capable of arguing ideas and policy, and of holding Democrats’ excesses in (card) check.

Also, quite frankly as a non-Christian person of color, I’m wary of what a charismatic leader like Palin could whip her followers up to do, even if it’s not what she intended.

Gloat, gloat, gloat like a baby stoat!!!!!!!!!!

You know, I don’t think a new fairness doctrine is especially a good thing, but it would be interesting to hear what the talking head would turn into if these boneheads were somehow made accountable for what they say.

Forget it. I’m just waiting for the day Big Pharma or any of the NRO staff even begin toward that “I swear, I’ll do it!” spiral. Hell, I’ll PayPal them a pack of Lunesta and a fifth of vodka.

“Since I new I wasn’t going to vote for him, I never listened to anything he said.” Now that’s what I call an informed decision.

He was increasingly frantic in the days leading up to the election (often going off on a shrill “why won’t people realize what I know about how dangerous/evil/leaves the toilet seat up Obama really is?!?!?!?”) and now that his diatribes have been largely ignored, he’s sinking into depression.

He even, just now on his show, referred to last night’s vote as half the nation choosing assisted suicide. If I were someone who cared about Limbaugh (and it’s hard to imagine that there is anyone who does), I’d hide the sleeping pills. Fortunately, I don’t care what happens to him, and am just enjoying seeing his mind snap even further.

Limbaugh proclaiming that a majority of people in this country, whether they knew it not, just voted for socialism.

And Dennis Prager, a local Los Angeles hack, walking back months of fear mongering by suggesting that Obama’s win wasn’t that much of a danger to the country since Bush and the surge has already won the war on terror.

Sheesh.

Not listening to him myself, but Rush always struck me as being aware that his role is primarily entertainer. Surprised he’d be emotionally invested in his schtick.

It’s really great to hear. Wish there was a way to depress him more.

Just a short while until his housekeeper makes a run to replenish his stash.
