    Ollie,

Remember when I brought the kids to DC and we visited all the monuments? Remember how I kept saying how awesome it must be to live near all of those historical sites? I’m envious again today. I’d love to have been at the gate with you celebrating this American victory.

How cool that you were there! I spent the evening driving from polling place to polling place passing out sandwiches and picking up coffee urns that had been loaned to the democratic poll workers by Caribou Coffee in Fairfax. I drove out to Fairfax at about 8:30 to return them and didn’t get home until 9:30. A. J. Verdelle was with me (here’s another link–she’d come over to Alexandria from DC to volunteer. We listened to the election coverage on WAMU and about went nuts when they called Ohio for Obama. I will never forget that feeling. I’ve decided to take the day off to attend the inaugural parade.
