  1. This type of over-confidence worries me. I’m afraid that it will lead to complacency. Let’s not pour the champagne yet. Instead, let’s encourage people to get to the polls and vote Obama-Biden. After that, you can concentrate on Jessica Alba.

  2. It isn’t over confidence. Nowhere do I say its in the bag. But neither should we put our heads down as if we’re losing this thing.

I do have a shot at Alba. But its a really, really, really, really (x 1 billion) small shot. Like John McCain’s.

the real question is….if you had to choose 1 what would it be? :-)

I figured out the reason the LA Times won’t release that tape. They know that organzized rioters will storm their building, destroy it, and shoot employees.

Gangs in LA will shoot Times deliverymen, burn newspapers, etc…… That’s the real reason they won’t release the tape.

Think about it. It’s unheard of not to release the tape.

  5. LLL says:

Also, I think McCain can still win. People lie to the pollsters.

  6. Southern Quaker says:

I’m sorry to have to be the one to break this to you, Oliver, but fivethrityeight puts McCain’s chances of winning at 3.8%. I’m afraid your chances of bringing Miss Alba home are somewhat lower than that.

(Of course, I suppose she could always get a flat right in front of your apartment and have to come in to make a phone call…)

  7. Bruce Henry says:

Wow, LLL. What kind of political opinions do you have when you ARE taking your meds?

ALBA ATTRACTED TO POWERFUL INTERNET BLOGGER

“I was initially drawn to his intellect, but what kept me coming back was our shared love of Swiss cheese,” she says.

    McCain lost anyway.

  9. Nimrod Gently says:

    A Always
    B Be
    C Closing

    Always be closing.

Fortunately the Obama campaign itself knows that and has been working to it.

At this point, I’d say McCain’s best chance of winning is through cheating. Which, you know, doesn’t rule it out after the last two elections.

  10. spitar1 says:

    What are my chances?

    One in 100 billion!

    So you’re saying there’s a chance!

Don’t give up hope Oliver. Jessica will come around someday!

    ;)

    LLL-

The LA Times doesn’t release “the tape”- just to annoy you and other wingnuts, it’s as simple as that. They are laughing at your pathetic tiny fisted outrage.

This goes for the entirety of the MSM. They gotten tired of being the whipping boy of the right wing – who simultaneously deride the “fossil” media as being increasingly irrelevant and “out of touch” – so this time they’ve decided if they are going to continuously get shit for being in the tank for liberals and Democrats they might as well rub your collective noses in it. Enjoy the smell losers!

    LLL: “Think about it.”

Have more ironic words ever been written?

    O-Dub,

Just ask her every time you see her whether she’ll come back to your place for a spirited evening of political insight.

It can’t hurt, and you only need her to say yes one time.

  14. PG says:

    LLL,

It’s unheard of not to release the tape.

You must not pay much attention to the news. Actually, it’s standard journalistic practice not to betray your sources. Remember Judy Miller’s going to jail for contempt rather than giving up Scooter Libby’s name? And there’s not even a subpoena for the LA Times to produce the tape; just a bunch of Republican blowhards wondering if Obama is wearing a flag pin at the dinner. It’d be more comparable to the pressure on Woodward and Bernstein to give up the name of Deep Throat, which they never did until he disclosed it himself.

I was the teaching assistant for a media law course at a graduate school of journalism, and those folks take their obligations to sources VERY seriously. Not like lawyers; if the government says for lawyers to give them information, they only say no if we can claim privilege. With the exception of lunatics like Lynne Stewart, lawyers ain’t going to prison for nobody. Journalists take classes on ethics where they debate how far they would go to get the story and protect the source; lawyers take classes on “professional responsibility” and then a mandatory multiple-choice test about how to stay in good standing with both the bar and the government.

  15. LLL says:

If there was nothing harmful on the tape, LA Times would at least release a transcript just to show the Republicans, “Ha. See. All that noise over nothing”.

And I don’t think Republicans had anything to do with the LA Times getting this tape. LA Times said they got it during the primaries, so it was probably a Hillary supporter who sent it.

And yes. I believe rioters and gangsters in LA would storm the LA Times building if they released the tape and Obama lost. I believe Crips and Bloods would make shooting their deliverymen a gang initiation.

  16. Southern Quaker says:

And yes. I believe rioters and gangsters in LA would storm the LA Times building if they released the tape and Obama lost. I believe Crips and Bloods would make shooting their deliverymen a gang initiation.

Then you are a scared little racist punk.

  17. Jess says:

    McCain will win.

  18. JET says:

Gangsters? Why would members of the Bush administration storm the LA Times?

  19. PG says:

    LLL,

If there was nothing harmful on the tape, LA Times would at least release a transcript just to show the Republicans, “Ha. See. All that noise over nothing”.

Which part of “journalists who want to keep getting information don’t betray their sources” did you not understand?

  20. Syco says:

The part in which they don’t get what they want.
