Joe The Ubiquitous Presence Calls Obama A Traitor
Tweet
The McCain campaign repeats the success they had vetting Sarah Palin with Joe The Plumber. If there is a metaphor for McCain ’08, thats it.

After seeing his interview the day after the debate I wondered why McCain kept using Joe the Jackazz. His views are unbelievable. If you want to make Joe angry- call him a Yankee! I am surprised he is not a card carrying member of the skinheads.
Always Vet your mascots.
if this JTP thing works, I’m leaving planet earth along with Tina Fey.
Joe = scumbag. And the hilarious thing is, he doesn’t care how ignorant and uninformed he looks as long as he can get his stupid face on the boob tube.
Guy doesn’t even pay his taxes, and he calls someone else “un-American”?
And Jerrold ‘Captain Obvious’ Nadler calls Obama ‘Not Politically Courageous’
Duh.
Joe The Plumber is wrong; Obama’s not a traitor. Nor is he naive about his past associations. Like Nadler says, he needed those guys and he couldn’t just walk away from them. Now he can, so he throws every one of them under the bus. It’s how he rolls. Now we’re all supposed to believe, or hope rather, that he’ll change.
Good luck with that one.
Josh Marshall: Always willing to dole out a good heaping of stupid. “Extremist.” After listening to Marshall and his ilk call the President and his supporters every name in the book for the last 8 years, reading this hack calling somebody an “extremist” is pretty funny.
I remember Jay pooh-poohing Marshall when TPM started covering the US attorney scandal. So, take his attacks on Marshall with a grain of salt. I suspect Jay is pre-grumpy in advance of Tuesday’s likely bad news for his side.
Joe the Plumber doesn’t believe in even the flat tax, much less the progressive tax system that is the only federal income tax system we’ve had in the U.S.; nor in Social Security; and now he says he doubts Obama’s “loyalty to America.” How about one of the conservative commenters here actually defend JtP’s remarks instead of shooting the messenger?
I’ve finally concluded that the reason that Obama’s call for “change” in our politics resonates is because people are tired of hearing crap like this from people like Joe the Plumber. Talking points lemmings like Joe and Jay and Jay Tea are the precise sort of things Americans are voting for Obama to repudiate. They represent the “smallness of our politics.”
Jay Tea challenging Josh Marshall’s intelligence and political insight is like John Gacy saying Ronald McDonald doesn’t really look like a clown.
“Josh Marshall: Always willing to dole out a good heaping of stupid.”
Jay, you’ve long since lost any shred or credibility or rationality. You’re just embarrassing yourself now.
“Joe the Plumber” said that Obama’s “ideology is completely different than what democracy stands for” and you respond to this by attacking Josh Marshall for calling Bush names. Sheesh. Do you agree with “Joe,” Jay? Do you agree that Obama’s “ideology is completely different that what democracy stands for”?
Can you name a single Obama policy that is opposed to democracy or otherwise “completely different” from it?
I can name a number of actual, real policy decisions made by Bush that run counter to an open, democratic society, everything from warantless surveilance of American citizens to torture to indefinite detention.
There’s calling people names and then there’s calling people out. Marshall and a lot of other journalists have been doing the latter for eight years.
“Joe the Plumber,” on the other hand, well, how would you characterize what he said, Jay?
August FTW!!!
After listening to Marshall and his ilk call the President and his supporters every name in the book for the last 8 years, reading this hack calling somebody an “extremist” is pretty funny.
Three examples, please. Thanks in advance.
Somebody fed him that. No doubt in my mind.
“Three examples, please. Thanks in advance.”
Don’t hold your breath. The man might be medically incapable of backing up his claims.
Jay’s basically a coward, among other things. Point out how full of shit he is and he does a vanishing act.
BTW, how’s your blog’s traffic these days compared to TPM’s?
A G.O.P. PSA on socialism.
Oh come on, Jay may be wrong but enough with the traffic wars. There are some dumb muthaf***as out there with more traffic than I-5 on labor day.
Joe doesn’t pay his taxes while the Ohio National Guard has to go without the items they need. “It’s better to leave your wife after a car accident than to be half black”-Joe
While McCain was right about Joe the Plumber — he’s a guy everyone is familiar with and knows — the problem for McCain is that nobody likes that guy.
Americans want “change.” Making a guy who sounds like a 90s-era Rush Limbaugh wannabe the centerpiece of your presidential campaign is not exactly going to appeal to voters.
Okay, so are we officially done with Joe the scab plumber now? Please?
“Okay, so are we officially done with Joe the scab plumber now? Please?”
I hope he sticks around and becomes an even bigger embarrassment to the GOP. I figure if Obama wins big, as does the Democrats in Congress, he could have a racist outburst on national newscast. … Or at least on Fox News.

Is it almost as funny, exactly as funny, or funnier than listening to Republican’ts chant Yes, McCain – NO HUSSEIN!? Or calling Obama a terrorist or a socialist or a Muslim?
Just wondering how to properly categorize conservative ‘humor’…
he could have a racist outburst on national newscast. … Or at least on Fox News.
You mean he hasn’t already?
“Or calling Obama a terrorist or a socialist or a Muslim”?
Or a walking advertisement for birth control like p.o.s. radio host Bill Cunningham saying that Obama wants to “gas the Jews”.
Joe the Plumber and Sarah the Barbie? Yeah, Man, thx to them Obama’s going to landslide.
Joe is a dumb tax cheating racist. Wow, and Sarah’s extolling him?
