How Did The Redskins Play Today?

This would have been more pleasing:

From George Washington To Barack Obama

Woot.

Wingers In My History (Mount Vernon Edition)

As I noted earlier, I went to Mount Vernon, George Washington’s estate. It was quite fun and I’ve got some pictures here. What was kind of interesting for me was the conservative influence on the place. It’s not overt by any stretch and doesn’t take away in any respect from the historical import and effect [...]

Finally, A Reason To Cross Party Lines

If, God forbid, Chris Matthews runs for senate and wins the Dem primary, I think I’ll support and donate to Arlen Specter. We have more than enough idiots in congress as is.

@ Mount Vernon

I’m visiting Washington’s estate at Mount Vernon in VA today, and I’m always stunned by people in line talking history when they have no clue. I heard one lady asking her friend if Washington died in office.
Really. Would it kill America not to sleep through history class?

Happy Thanksgiving

I’m thankful my country elected a good man to set right what has gone wrong.

Oh No, Teachers Are Talking About Non-White Males In History Class!

The right’s desire to have us all in blinders strikes again.

The Obama BOOM

Conservatives in print, broadcast, and online have tried to make hay about the market going down in the last few weeks – trying lamely to tie it to Obama’s election despite the evidence to the contrary that the market downturn for the past year to year and a half is a clear outgrowth of Republican [...]

Britney Spears In Rolling Stone

Look, I don’t know who the PR wizard is behind the rollout of Britney Spears‘ new album is but he or she is doing a masterful job. It’s like pre-meltdown Britney is back. But with the added benefit of knowing that any second she could pull out an Uzi and take out the entire crowd [...]

Thanks Sarah Palin!

Barack Obama To Retain, Promote Marcus Fenix

WASHINGTON — President-elect Barack Obama plans to retain and promote COG soldier Marcus Fenix when he is sworn in as president. Fenix currently leads his team of “Gears” in Delta squad but is expected to be promoted to Gears Chief Of Staff under Obama. “This shows that Obama takes the Locust threat seriously”, said Cory [...]

Elections Be Damned, Conservatives Preserve The Stupid

Yesterday on CNBC conservative icon, activist and inside man Grover Norquist blamed the economic meltdown on the election of a Democratic congress. He did so with a straight face, apparently totally serious about it and in no way working in the employ of Ashton Kutcher for a wicked PUNK’D. He seems to actually believe it [...]

Hey, How About That

Well, at least I know people miss this site when its not around to be snarky.

Citigroup Bailout

Yay! $20 billion more of our tax dollars to bailout MBAs and Captains Of Capitalism who don’t know how to run a profitable business.
WOOOT.

Elections, Thank God, Have Consequences

“Foes of stem cell research now face tough battle”
Now that we’ve got a pro-science presidency, so many more lives can be saved.

They Don’t Want Your Black Ass

Sigh. Yet another black Republican writes lamenting the fact that her party has no interest in appealing to black people. Even before the candidacy of Obama, the GOP has made clear for several decades that it doesn’t have any interest in attracting the votes of minorities, especially blacks. I don’t know why black conservatives keep [...]

SNL Concession?

Since the election, Saturday Night Live has not done any skits with Fred Armisen as Barack Obama. Yet they’ve done Joe Biden, Barney Frank, and even Zell Miller. While they apparently are determined to stick with the miscasting of Armisen, this isn’t exactly a vote of confidence for his horrible impression.

Democratic T-Shirts: Just Getting Warmed Up

I’m going to be making more of these in the near future, but as a reminder these are available to buy:

Change Is Coming

I was down in D.C. today on The Mall (I was visiting the re-opened National Museum of American History) and from there I could see the scaffolding of the stands being built on the Capitol for the Inauguration. It took me right back to election day to see that. Very exciting, America.

I Got Yer Infrastructure Here

President-elect Obama talked in his radio address about infrastructure investment to create jobs. In addition to public works may I suggest… MARS? Not only would a Mars mission help science-related jobs but we need blue collar work for it as well.
Probably a pipe dream but a boy can dream.
