Charles understandably got choked up when he started talking of his own inevitable demise, but he looks pretty damn sturdy for a fella born in ‘22.

Comments from Vanessa, Paul, Ali, ed, Oliver and “somejackass”.

Which of these just doesn’t belong?

I just love it when someone feels so sure of their position that they are unwilling to put their name to it.

Yes, jackass, you are the only one.

    Thanks Oliver!

Keep working, keep making phone calls, keep knocking on doors. Don’t let up until we win.

Long live Charles! He sounds like someone I’d love to hear talk about the things he’s seen in life. A wonderful inspiration to the hard-working youngsters at Obama HQ.

With all the crap I’m digesting from the news these days, I sure could use more ‘Charles’ stories.

Another lump-in-the-throat story and I still don’t know how to spell veclempt. verklempt?

I know Charles got Barack. What’s also nice is that I know Barack–for all his meeting hundreds of people–must have got Charles.

  14. Sean D. Martin says:

    Usually spelled “verklempt”

Definition: overcome with emotion; clenched; also written ferklempt
    Etymology: Yiddish
