“Obama’s trying to eat the baby’s hand. They do that in Kenya”-Philip J. Berg
I’m such a sucker for cute pictures.
8 Days to Go, and fewer and fewer for the one thing left to dread: an Al-Qaeda attack somewhere designed to help McCain, whom they’ve stated they favor. But maybe even they realize it won’t be enough to swing the election his way. Maybe we can bank on their intelligence, demonic as its uses may be, because it’s been superior so far to the McCain ticket’s own.
I don’t think even the Al-Qaeda gambit would work at this point. The greatest risk right now is that we don’t show up to seal the deal. No way I believe the lead is 10 points, and still expect it to tighten.
Oh noes, Obama is abducting white Christian children because he needs their blood for his African Muslim Satanic rituals! Somebody warn the Freepers before it’s too late!
“Shown above: Barack Obama with a newly-registered voter through ACORN, thanking her for the seven ballots she’s already cast for him.”
J.
…and I hear she’s already given about $10,000 to his campaign via on-line credit card payments, all in the names of her dollies…
J.
Give it a rest, Jay.
Jay Teabagger knows this because HE’s the one who really put in those payments in order to “test the system”. Thanks for the help, sucka!
BTW, I dig Joe Biden.
…and for her impertinence, Duros, that TV station has been frozen out of any more interviews from the Obama campaign.
Who’s afraid of the media, of tough questions, now?
J.
Jay, haven’t you decided to go on vacation somewhere and drink heavily yet? You guys have tried to make ACORN a story for three months now. How you doin’ in the polls? If it didn’t work recently, it ain’t going to work this week.
PS, tell you mom to put a little less jelly and more PB on my sandwiches, K? We’ll be down to fumigate your basement bedroom in about two weeks.
They were like Colbert Report questions. Biden should have had more fun with her. Of course this piece also shows me that Colbert really doesn’t have to work very hard at being so funny. The GOP does all the writing for him.
Jaim, mind the necrophilia. It’s gross.
And nothing like ignoring actual questions — WHY did the Obama campaign turn off the security features on credit card donations and facilitate fraud? WHY does ACORN continue to use its flawed system that has generated literally hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of fraudulent voter registrations? WHY have so many Obama supporters been caught registering to vote in swing states and NOT their home states? — by making personal attacks against the questioner, is there? I bet “Joe The Plumber” didn’t expect the near-proctological exam HIS life got when he dared ask Obama a question — and, more heretically, goaded Obama into the ultimate gaffe, speaking what was really on his mind.
J.
You call that impertinence, Jay? Seriously? I call it mean-spirited and willfully ignorant, designed to scare voters.
Country First, right?
Fuck all y’all.
Jaim, mind the necrophilia. It’s gross.
Wha….?
I bet “Joe The Plumber” didn’t expect the near-proctological exam HIS life got when he dared ask Obama a question
Oh, I think he did, because he’s an attention whore.
and, more heretically, goaded Obama into the ultimate gaffe, speaking what was really on his mind.
How was that a gaffe? He answered the question thoughtfully and in depth. You tools have decided to hear what you want to hear and turn it into something nefarious and dark, not us. And Obama spent a hell of a lot more time answering Joe the scab plumber than McCain ever would have.
You are running out of straws.
Just a coincidence that her husband is a GOP media consultant, then, yes?
Jaim, considering your familiar speech about my mother, I presumed you knew she’s been dead for about 29 years.
And Joe’s question wasn’t any “gotcha” question — the only reason it drew attention was Obama’s answer.
But back to that adorable picture — I’m sure she’s up to at least 15 votes for Obama now, she’s maxed out her credit cards, and ACORN’s signed her up in twelve swing states.
J.
You know, Jay Tea, I would love to see proof that there are lots of illegal votes being cast because of ACORN. Bonus points to you if you can demonstrate that there’s enough voter fraud on the Dem side to swing the election from McCain to Obama, given that McCain is being crushed in the polls (and has been for weeks).
And you’re right, JT. It certainly wasn’t any “gotcha” question… not like she asked what newspapers Biden reads, or what Supreme Court decisions he disagrees with.
Are you a fucking idiot? Imagine a parallel universe where a news anchor bases a question to McCain on the premise that he’s a facsimile of Hitler, or Mussolini. You’d be ENRAGED at the liberal media. But noooo, a reporter can go ahead and ask Biden, “Why don’t you come out and say that you’re socialist Marxist communist pigs?” You’re FINE with that.
You should be ashamed of yourself. You’re an embarrassment.
Election day’s still eight days away, Mambo. But if you want examples, how about those 13 Obama volunteers who — under threat of criminal prosecution — withdrew their Ohio ballots after illegally registering to vote there (and voting!), and not in their home states?
http://www.nypost.com/seven/10252008/news/politics/bam_staffers_pull_their_bogus_ohio_ballo_135152.htm
J.
Hey Jay Tea, go fuck yourself. You are not human and should not be treated as such. You’re a fucking Republican clown and should locked up in a mental hospital for the rest of your life.
“When you start getting the most flak, you know you’re over the target.”
Gee, I wonder if Strowbridge is registered to vote in Ohio, as well as several other swing states…
J.
Jay -
How many fraudulent ACORN regsitrations are going to turn into bogus votes?
Limp around the house mulling that one over.
Hmm, a whole 13 votes that AREN’T GOING TO BE COUNTED, huh? Fail, JT. You’re gonna have to do better than that. And again, I would love to see you make the case that voter fraud will be the difference in this election.
“When you start getting the most flak, you know you’re over the target.”
Actually, in my experience, you often get a lot of flak when you wander aimlessly and stupidly into a situation that you shouldn’t be in at all. See Iraq. Or alternatively, your entry into this line of argument.
And apparently, JT, you concede that the Florida news anchor was out of line? Thanks.
JT: WHY does ACORN continue to use its flawed system that has generated literally hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of fraudulent voter registrations?
Got one shred of proof for that at all, Jay? “Literally hundred of thousands”
Come on, name 30. Out of 200,000 plus (”literally hundreds of thousands”) you should be able to give 30 specific examples. But you can’t. You know why? Because from from 2000 to 2006 there were a grand total, nationwide, of 26 prosecutions for voter fraud. Literally hundreds of millions of votes cast during that period and despite the Justice Department focus on it there have been (say it with me) only 26 prosecutions for voter fraud.
In this election cycle, one. With all the efforts by the right to make an issue out of ACORN, one. A man in Ohio who attempted who registered under a fake address.
One.
You, Jay, however, are full of number two.
PD: I guess that depends on how many are needed.
Recall such past glorious Democratic victories as Chicago 1960, when Daley kept “finding” more and more uncounted Democratic votes. Or Washington State in 2004, when more and more “previously uncounted” votes kept turning up until the Democrat won the governorship. I think they ended up showing about 1,000 convicted felons cast ballots that year, I guess to make up for all those military absentee ballots that — gosh darn it — were mailed out too late to be returned in time. And quite a few people returned from the grave to exercise their franchise.
J.
Martin, you’re counting CONVICTIONS. I cited REGISTRATIONS.
Here are some quick examples:
About 1,500 in St. Louis.
5,000 in Lake County, Indiana.
35,000 in Missouri.
57,000 in Pennsylvania.
10,000 in Texas.
1,100 in New Mexico.
Add that up, and it’s around 110,000.
Just for this election cycle.
ACORN’s already facing one RICO suit. It needs more.
And Obama represented them in a court case, provided training to their volunteers, and gave them over $800,000 this year from his campaign.
Like I said… if that lovely little girl isn’t already registered by ACORN in at least seven swing states so far, they’re getting sloppy.
J.
Jay -
How many fraudulent ACORN regsitrations are going to turn into bogus votes?
Conversely, how many legitimate voters were purged from voting rolls by the GOP, or otherwise disenfranchised?
Is that how this works? We have to sign up more than you can throw away? Even with the 26 REAL voter fraud cases, I think we’re winning.
Duros, that would be the instinctive response of some people. Conversely, there are some who say they “need” to pull these ACORN-style games to counter the purgings, the Diebold rigged machines, the “intimidation” crap, and so on, and so on.
I don’t like ANY games that ass around with elections. I am on record for saying the New Hampshire GOP got off way, WAY too easy over the 2002 phone jamming scandal. And the asshole who has been charged (a Republican) with vote fraud should get the max.
ACORN is rotten, through and through, and needs to be put out of the voter registration business. Preferably, out of existence entirely.
J.
“When you start getting the most flak, you know you’re over the target.”
So you base your value or your not on the evidence that backs it up, but the amount of responses. You just admitted you were a troll, and trolls are not human.
And Obama represented them in a court case
In a case to enforce the motor voter laws, to ensure that states would offer voter registration at the DMV.
ACORN v. Edgar, 56 F.3d 791 (7th Cir. 1995). ACORN was joined as a plaintiff by the League of Women Voters, the DOJ and local AUSA, LULAC, Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund, and Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund. Republicans, PLEASE go off on how awful it was for Obama to be advocating for a set of plaintiffs like that. Please cement your losses among women and Latinos, not to mention making finally clear, once and for all, that you don’t believe the role of federal attorneys or the Department of Justice is actually to advocate for the enforcement of law.
PROCEDURAL POSTURE: Appellees, United States and others, sought to force appellant State of Illinois to comply with the provisions of the National Registration Act of 1993 (motor voter law), 42 U.S.C.S. §§ 1973 gg et seq. The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois granted the United States an injunction that compelled the State of Illinois to enforce the motor voter law. The State of Illinois appealed.
OVERVIEW: On appeal, the State of Illinois argued that Congress could not force state governments to administer a federal program that facilitated the registration of voters in federal elections. The court stated that Congress had the power to regulate federal elections under the powers granted by U.S. Const. art. I, § 4 and U.S. Const. art. II, § 1. In addition, U.S. Const. art. I, § 4 mandated the states to initially set up the system of federal elections within their own jurisdiction, subject to the whims of Congress. The court found that these powers and mandates implicitly extended to voter registration as well. Thus under the necessary and proper clause of U.S. Const. art. I, § 8, Congress properly imposed the provisions of the National Registration Act of 1993 (motor voter law), 42 U.S.C.S. §§ 1973 gg et seq., upon the State of Illinois. The court did find that the district court’s injunction overreached in its enforcement of the motor voter law. The court found there was no justification to have further intruded upon the operations of state government by the addition of more requirements than the actual motor voter law provided for.
OUTCOME: The injunction decree was affirmed as modified. The court eliminated the fourth paragraph of the injunction which had ordered the State of Illinois to designate a chief state election official that would have all the necessary powers to enforce the compliance with the motor voter law.
The fact that Jay references this as something bad Obama did is another sign that Republicans are insincere when they say they’re only worried about fraudulent voting. They just don’t like for voting to be easily accessible, full stop.
“Like I said… if that lovely little girl isn’t already registered by ACORN in at least seven swing states so far, they’re getting sloppy.”
“ACORN is rotten, through and through, and needs to be put out of the voter registration business. Preferably, out of existence entirely.”
That’s just your opinion, Jay Tea, and your opinion doesn’t matter because you are not fucking human. Got it?
You know who discovered these fraudulent ACORN registrations you keep complaining about? ACORN did. They caught them and told the authorities. But don’t let the facts get in the way of your prejudices, you fucking piece of shit.
Actually, Jay’s reference to the little girl as an example of the problem of voter registration fraud is quite perfect. So, Jay, do you think this little girl, if registered, is actually going to be able to vote? Can you point to an instance of this occurring? How many cases have there been — not convictions, just indictments (just enough to get a ham sandwich) — of people’s using fraudulent registrations to vote when they were wholly ineligible (not just registering in the wrong state) to vote, or already had voted in that election?
JT-
A couple of points.
“Add that up, and it’s around 110,000″ is a far cry from “literally hundreds of thousands (if not millions)”. When pressed for support you immediately change your claim.
When there are less than 30 prosecutions in 8 years when the Justice Department has focused on this it really strains credibility to believe the problem is as wide spread as you keep liking to claim.
“Obama represented them in a court case, provided training to their volunteers, and gave them over $800,000 this year from his campaign”.
Yep. In 1995 he represented them in one (there’s that number again!) case along with co-plaintiff the Department of Justice and others. You going to attack the Dept of Justice now for working with ACORN to get a federal law (”motor voter” implemented?
He was never an ACORN trainer and never worked for ACORN in any other capacity.
And his campaign has made no donations to ACORN.
“From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs” isn’t a policy, it’s an ideal. Marx wanted to create a world where that was possible, not impose it on the current one. And in his estimation it takes two or three revolutions to get that far anyway.
“From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs”
And as a Christian sentiment, what’s so wrong with that anyway?
How many cases have there been …of people’s using fraudulent registrations to vote when they were wholly ineligible (not just registering in the wrong state) to vote, or already had voted in that election?
Besides Ann Coulter, of course.
Jesus was a Marxist, he just didn’t know it yet.
“…and for her impertinence, Duros, that TV station has been frozen out of any more interviews from the Obama campaign.
Who’s afraid of the media, of tough questions, now?” JT
The questions weren’t tough, just idiotic. Why should he waste precious minutes with a pseudo journalist. I couldn’t believe how amazing Joe the Senator sounded. His responses couldn’t be better if they were scripted. Wouldn’t take no shit from some dumb ass.
