Pennsylvania GOP Sends Out E-Mail Saying Obama Would Bring About Holocaust

That odor you smell, ladies and gentlemen, is the whiff of desperation emanating from the Republican party and the conservative movement. Josh Marshall has some more on the backstory.

How bad is it? This story from “The American Thinker” (I know, right?) about “signs” pointing to McCain winning is being taken seriously in the conservative blogosphere. His evidence? The so-called PUMA voters who essentially consist of a couple internet cranks (who are largely Republicans) and a supposed lack of Obama signs in New York. That’s it. That’s the evidence.

If I tried the same stupidity with my neighborhood, Takoma Park MD, then I would say John McCain won’t win a single state. That’s clearly nonsense, but that’s what happens when you emulate the right.

Awesome sense of timing there. Why not wait until a week after 538com’s “The PUMAs Are Dead” post, showing that McCain is doing worse than Obama in their respective bases before you run this. Why not wait until the day after the same story, showing the complete opposite is true, is featured in the NYT.

  2. Bleeding Gums Murphy says:

The “lack of signs” in NY (and NJ) has to do with the fact that they are not being given away, but are being charged for.

    Nonetheless, expect a landslide here.

In a normal election that Holocaust shit would kill a campaign. However, McCain’s campaign is too far gone for it to matter.

I’ll appalled, but not remotely surprised. My husband and I are both Jewish, he grew up in Pennsylvania, and we were there for a bar mitzvah last weekend. It was marvelous to hear all of his elderly aunties speak of McCain with such disgust. And Palin? “Don’t get me staaaaaarted!” spat Aunt Gert.
