These two things are true:

Sarah Palin was and is connected to the AIP. Barack Obama was also one of many elected officials aided by the "New Party".

Now I've done my research, and the New Party ain't no thing.

It was just a coalation of the more left-wing members and supporters (trade unionists and ACORN, mostly) of the Democratic party. Not a terrorist organisation, not even that far-left - they were Social Democrats, not Socialists. Main issue was the electoral system in America; they were sick of the two-party system but aware that third parties didn't work, promoting old-fashioned electoral fusion instead. Lasted a grand total of five years. Not even a real political party in some respects. The New Party, in short, is/was nothing, nothing at all, to fear.

Meanwhile, the AIP are secessionists. I mean, they argue for a referendum, but if you think once they've got one they won't argue for one side of it you must be pretty thick. They want independence, it's right there in the name. Somewhat more radical than a pressure group seeking to reintroduce electoral fusion, I think. Sarah Palin's involvement with them is well documented and proven, just like the fact that the New Party had some involvement in Obama's original run for the Illinois State Senate. That's the only thing that's equal about them.

Can you imagine the uproar if someone asked McCain how similar his politics were to, say, Mussolini ? The whooping and screeching from the right would be deafening.

"There’s a hell of a lot more evidence supporting the Obama/New Party alliance than there ever was tying Sarah Palin to the AIP… and you ran the hell out of that one."

So Obama gave a speech at the New Party Alliance and is married to a member of the New Party Alliance?

No? Then you are a fucking liar, Jay Tea. But that's not a shock.

There's <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwvPNXYrIyI" rel="nofollow">a video of Obama offering his personal endorsement</a> to the New Alliance Party?

New Party News, Spring 1996 Newsletter:

<i>"New Party members won three other primaries this Spring in Chicago: Barack Obama (State Senate), Michael Chandler (Democratic Party Committee) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary)..."these victories prove that small 'd' democracy can work' said Obama".</i>

The article also featured a photo of Obama posing with several other New Party members celebrating their electoral victory.

There's a hell of a lot more evidence supporting the Obama/New Party alliance than there ever was tying Sarah Palin to the AIP... and you ran the hell out of that one.

Obama posed for pictures with the candidates as a slate, cheerfully accepted their endorsement, didn't quibble when they claimed him as a member and boasted of his victory... but now, that it's inconvenient, that's all gone.

Anchor: "Senator Biden, some people in the United States have accused you and Barack Obama of drinking the blood of virgins. How can the American people feel comfortable voting for you if they must simultaneously be concerned for the safety of their pre-teen daughters?"
