The RNC has released a new web video. It is 12 minutes long. It is 12 minutes of Fred Thompson doing his “fake president” act telling us how horrible an Obama win would be.
Its the kind of situation that makes you wonder if someone paid them to take the fall.
Can’t do it. I went over there, but I just can’t bring myself to watch it. I’ll wait for the summary.
The main point he’s trying to make is that the economic collapse had literally _nothing_ to do with rampant deregulation and was all about scary poor people buying houses to live out their welfare dreams.
Yeah, didn’t work three weeks ago, not going to work now.
Lots of talk too about how Obama will make government bigger. Which is funny, because the Fed has grown to gargantuan proportions under George W. Bush. He absolutely loves making the government bigger (and less competent to boot).
Say g’night Fred.
I’ve postulated many times now that I think McCain got the nomination this time around to shut him up because the “Powers That Be” in the GOP knew this was a nearly impossible election for them to win. This way, McCain gets his shot and fails, the Dems get a nearly scorched earth USA and the GOP leaders get to watch and snipe as we try to undo all the damage they’ve done. And Fred Thompson is a blowhard. Maybe I’ll put together a Republican Douchebaggery Ranking List, he’ll probably make the top twenty.
Less than two weeks from election day it is now time to focus?
Where you been guy? The people actually concerned about the nation’s future have been working on that for quite some time. but you go right ahead and start cramming the night before the exam.
Let Fred Thompson’s opinion really matters to me, to anyone. I cant bring myself to watch the video either so I will also wait for a summary. But in the meantime, who the hell cares what Thompson has to say? He has no clout anyways.
I like that he turns in his leather chair and takes off his glasses to indicate that while he’s clearly very busy, he does has a moment to share something important with us. I wonder if he learned that in acting school. It’s very credible. Why, he probably didn’t even look at the camera crew when they arrived at his office. They probably set up the lighting and camera in total silence, then waited in awe for him to turn and begin speaking.
How heavily are the comments moderated on that website?
Irrelevantly, have y’all seen that the Yes on 8 folks in California has now taken up blackmailing the supporters of No on 8?
Seriously, I think we are seeing the biggest comeback of McCarthyist tactics in this year’s election since … well, McCarthy.
is there anyone on that side who is still with their first wife?

Oh, I see, so he’s lying again.
How heavily are the comments moderated on that website?
Well, that depends on if you’re a liberal or not.
I’ll watch it. I need a cure for my insomnia.

He didn’t learn it in acting school…he learned it from Alec Baldwin…

Too late, Fred. Too fucking late.

Bush.
They say power is seductive.
Clearly, with Bush, not so much.
