I love the Schuster just laughed at him. Awesome.
I liked their laughing, too. But his overfamiliar reference to “grandma” should have earned him a knock upside the head. If it were his own he could call her anything he wanted; since it’s Obama’s, and she’s seriously ill, only “grandmother” would show a modicum of respect.
But these people… dress ‘em in Armani and they’re still knuckle-dragging cavemen.
As to substance, imagine Obama on a commercial flight at this stage: being mobbed by supporters and detractors in and out and during… security issues… scheduling issues…
Remind everyone of the weekend trips back to AZ when McCain did not campaign on the weekend. I wonder how much fuel was used for all of those flights?
You know, I joked with some friends of mine that the McCain campaign would find a way to attack Obama for this, but I wasn’t actually cynical enough to believe they’d really do it.
If I understand correctly, Obama is rushing to Hawaii, under the cover of visiting his ailing Grandmother, to switch his Kenyan birth certificate with his newly forged more authentic looking official Hawaiian birth certificate.
Hey ‘pidge! Maybe we could hire ourselves out to a bunch of right wing bloggers. We can go stake out the Hawaii Department of Health or whatever and take pictures of Obama when he stops by to make the switch!

Good thing we’re hiring out to right wing bloggers. If we actually were right wing bloggers we’d have to convince our mom’s to rent a nearby house with a basement or a basement apartment that we could set up as our frontline Iraq, er, Obama-Watch Birth Certificategate stake out headquarters.
As it is I wonder if we could bill the RNC $150,000 for floral print shirts and swimsuits. I understand Alaska is covering our per diem and air fare, which means we can bring our kids!

Criminy! I despise the media.
They have gone on and on for days about the clothes that the McCain campaign bought for the VP candidate, but only today got around to mentioning that it is an illegal expenditure.
The fact that it is illegal is the only thing that makes it newsworthy.
Olbermann spent a whole segment of his show today going on and on about how dreadful this guy was for “mocking” Obama going home to see his ailing grandmother, never mind that that is not what the guy was doing. But he never got around to “reporting” whether it was a legal use of campaign funds.
This Republican operative was saying that Obama using campaign funds for a trip home was the same as the McCain campaign using campaign funds for clothes. I don’t know if it is or not because the corporate media is so busy wanking to the faux outrage of the day that they can’t be bothered to do a fact check or report an actual story.

For those of you unsympathetic, right-wing Republican black haters who wrote on this blog, shame on you. Shame on Brad Blakeman, too, for making that horrific comment about Barack’s grandmother. That was awful. If you were lucky enough to have an 86 year old grandmother at Obama’s age, consider yourself lucky. He’s a classy man that all you white trash republican mean-spirited assholes can’t handle in the White House. No wonder why you voted in an asshole the last 8 years. Are you happy he sent you to the poor house? He doesn’t give a shit about you; and neither would McCain. Obama cares about the middle class and wants to bring our jobs back from India and all those other countries that Bush and Cheney allowed to go overseas. Plus, he gives them big tax breaks for shipping them over there! And, McCain would do the same. Don’t you know anyone who lost a job that went overseas? Have a heart, you stinkin’ Repubs. Get a life, and get yourself educated before making remarks about Obama, who is a smart, intelligent, bright man.
Brad Blakeman has “Jumped the Shark”. Never again will this un-human be taken seriously.

Also, I’m surprised more republicans haven’t attacked Obama over his support and concern for his grandmother. After all, Republicans voted against supporting the goals and ideals of Mother’s Day this year.
Its an outrage that this guy would even form his lips to say such a despiscable remark. As a jewish man which always surprises me that Jews would be republicans, should be so insensitive to Sen Obama’s need to see his Grandmother At such a critical time.

Clothing is one of the items that is used as an example of personal expenditures that are not allowed according to the FEC. Mortgages also.
You may recall that that is how they recruited Santorum, Allen, and a number of other up and comers in the Republican Party. They assured them that everything would be paid for by the campaign, and in the permanent Republican majority the corruption money would be free flowing. The change in the rules put a bit of a crimp in their lifestyle.
There is a certain irony in someone complaining in advance that Senator Obama did not reimburse his campaign for his flight home when McCain has been violating the rules with his wife’s company plane from day one.
