The “only” real difference? Did you bother to do any actual research on either McVeigh or Ayers before you came up with that?

I don’t have any love for the tactics of Weather Underground, but there’s a significant difference in body count between McVeigh and Ayers, as Weatherman made a point to call in evacuations of the places they bombed.

And there’s plenty of place for unrepentant killers in society. We refer to him as Dr. Kissinger.

Agreed with ed…nobody’s defending Ayers’ actions, but that’s not really what the campaign tactic is about. That particular nonsense is about Obama’s relationship to Ayers, which McCain/Palin makes out to be much chummier than reality suggests.
