I don’t have sound on my computer at work but could read their lips. Love that serious determined look of steely resolve. The ad probably has that woman’s voice-over that McCain has been using. This old line is stuff from the 2004 and previous campaigns, and finally the voting public isn’t buying it again.

It’s clearer now more than ever that this campaign is being run by the remedial multimedia students. Jeebus.

Imagine if the Republican campaign actually attempted an honest rebuttal of Sen. Obama’s economic policy? I know, crazy talk. That’s not how things work here. They’d rather appeal to your knee-jerk emotions (taxes! EEW!) than reason.

It’s certainly bad, but it may not be all that laughable. For the audience it’s aimed at, the “righteous indignation” of the various Joes is going to strike a chord. They’re always looking for something to be pissed off about, and Obama’s poor choice of words (“spread the wealth around”) just gives them an easy opening.

While I have NO problem with the idea of those who are richest paying more taxes (especially since they usually manage to avoid paying a lot of what they should through tax shelters anyway – you could say that raising their tax rate helps balance that out so they actually end up paying their fare share,) I can also understand why some people feel that taxing the rich at a higher rate is, in a way, penalizing them for their success. I don’t agree with them, but I can see where they’re coming from.
