Kevin, I don't like the idea either but I'm even less fond of our crumbling infrastructure - ie tractor trailers driving off of the Bay Bridge - and O'Malley cutting funds for public land, education, and Bay cleanup (wait, there's no money going to the Bay right now anyway so it can't be cut). Point being, we need money and people from Maryland, especially the shore, are taking their money over to Delaware and playing slots there. If the demand already exists, why not keep the money in MD?

Hey Oliver,

can you do a story on this - I want to catch this woman and her two daughters.

My Obama for President and my wife's republicansforobama.com sign (shes a republican I'm a democrat) were stolen by a mom and her two daughters:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmDsvuIe60w

If anyone knows anyone in Corinth, Texas please spread the word. I would like to prosecute them. I have seven mccain signs they touched with ungloved hands we can get fingerprinted (they left them in my yard for some reason) and i believe they 'walked' by my home the same day in daylight to see my yard - i stared back at the three of them, and they left quickly (was out in the yard doing yard work).

So i think they're within walking distance of me (the kids had roller blades on and the mom was walking - and shes not very fit).

We've ordered our signs from out of state since we can't get any locally - they're too popular and too many are stolen. In 2000 and 2004 we had exactly 4 and 6 signs stolen defaced or destroye din our yard so this year we bought cameras and set up a security system...

Word.

Be careful what you wish for. Slots are a mechanized mining of people for their money, and they are damned hard to get rid of once they show up.

They contribute nothing to society, and if you can prevent them from being there, take advantage of your luck and keep them out.

Terrible idea, won't boost the local economy in a sustainable, positive way... and will increase indirect costs for policing, vandalism, etc.

Saw the results when the state weaned itself off of them. Hate to see us go back.
