Conservatives were shocked – SHOCKED- to find out that there was such a thing as racial discrimination in this country. See, that had all gone away, way back in the day. Sometime around 1865….or was it 1965?
But then affirmative action came along. WHOA! All of a sudden racial preferences were JUST PLAIN WRONG.
That’s when conservatives remembered Dr. King’s remarks about character being more important than skin color. Now, see, Dr. King was really a Republican all along!
These guys make me laugh. 400 years of white racism, imperialism, and genocide is something that should be “moved beyond, and put behind us.” But 30 years of trying to even the playing field a little is “legalized discimination, naked racism.”
And, Amused Observer, perhaps you can answer the question that Miss Mccann won’t: What’s the difference between Liberman’s McCain endorsement and Powell’s Obama endorsement? Don’t give me any of that “life-long Republican” crap either. If you’ve read Powell’s autobiograpy you know that’s not true.
