I believe they’re out there, but I think Duros has a point–it will be 2024 before we see one gain any prominence. The GOP needs to have the self-awareness to look in the mirror and say “I have a problem” before it can fix it.

The modern GOP is addicted to power and bullying. If it decides to kick this habit, it might be ready to rejoin society again.

The comments section, however, is hilarity itself. Obama supporters stunned that a paper which has always, always endorsed the Republican decided to go for the Democrat, and Republicans who insist that they saw this coming, that of course the Trib’s liberal bias would have led them to Obama.

I think the Trib’s case is very clear–we endorsed Republicans when the Republican Party acted like principled conservatives, not like a bunch of privileged brats and con men.

Run a principled conservative against Obama in 2012. The Trib will come back.

Wow. I had wondered if this would be the year that the Trib finally endorsed a Democrat, but I didn’t really believe it.
