If Obama wins and the exit polls show independents voted overwhelmingly for him, the pundits are going to lay the blame at Palin’s high heels and advise the GOP to forget the evangelicals and run candidates with financial expertise (like Mitt Romney) in the future. Needless to say, the evangelicals, who finally got one of their own on the ticket, won’t take this well and the ensuing battle will tear the Republican Party to bits.

Not particularly likely, I don’t think, but it’s nice to think about. The SDPing of the GOP. Oh, merry, merry Christmas.

Leave them so far in debt that they will have to spend the 2010 cycle just trying to break even. Image three cycles in a row of Democratic dominance. That will break their spirit going into 2012.
