National Review & “Wake Up”

Rich Lowry in the National Review, Oct. 29, 2004

“Wake Up America, Wake Up”
That’s Kerry today. Needless to say, he has seemed awfully screechy lately…

Kathryn Jean Lopez, Today

Wake up, America. Good morning. There’s still an election going on. Contrary to Obama-Pelosi-Reid posturing, it ain’t over yet.

Is it?

  1. Is it just me, or do you also hear the voice of The Howard Stern Show’s notorious KKK guy Daniel Carver shouting “Wayk uhp, Whaht Peepul!” every time you read headlines like that at National[ist] Review Online?

Hey, take it easy on Rich Lowry, first thing on the morning of 9/12/2001 he marched right down to the nearest military recruiting office and enlisted in the U.S. Marines.

Oh, wait, Rich Lowry most certainly did nothing of the sort. He’s a bedwetting Republican chickenhawk pussy who’s nevertheless cheerled the inherently wrong Iraq Invasion and the objectively ineffectual and stupid George Bush, Jr. at every opportunity. I must have been confused for a moment.

He also writes romance novel-worthy reviews of Gov. Palin. Blegh.

It was kinda fun watching John Kerry eat Bill O’Reilly’s lunch about two weeks ago. Almost certainly he’d be a better majority leader than Sen. Reid.

Let me throw this out there. What is McCain’s plan to help the economy? Is it consistent with his political philosophy? Is it consistent with his strategy just a week ago?

Try this with any piece of McCain’s agenda. It is just impossible to simply articulate the McCain message.

    It’s over.

One would think so. But it’s not over. We need to finish like Usain Bolt in the 200 and not like Usain Bolt in the 100. Stay on target. Eye of the Tiger. Get your game face on.

Better yet, donate, volunteer to canvass, phone bank, stuff envelopes, whatever they got. Even if you’re in a deep blue state, there’s still stuff you can do (call battleground states, for example).

Now hop to it! In the words of my erstwhile baseball coach: No let!

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking.

  7. I think they are stealing Dennis Kucinich’s schtick.

It’s almost over, but never forget those three little words: Dewey Defeats Truman.
