ABC’s Big Oil Protection Racket

ABC is refusing to run an ad from Al Gore’s “We” campaign that’s pretty innocuous when you compare it to the swill they run from the oil industry 24/7.

  • “All of our advertising is reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and the context of this particular ad was determined not to be acceptable,” said Julie Hoover, a network spokeswoman, who read from a prepared statement.

    When asked for a copy of the network’s policy, Ms. Hoover said she needed to check if it was public and that it was “unlikely” media could view a copy.

    Why would your policy on what is acceptable in ads need to be private? What could your policy possibly be that it isn’t something you could openly share with the public whose airwaves you are using?
