CBS “investigates”.
Other donors who gave over the legal limit to the Obama campaign contacted by CBS News said their money was refunded promptly by the campaign. Of those who spoke to CBS News, it seems their only mistake was that of enthusiasm.
Felicity Nitz, 60, of Brooklyn says she kept on clicking on Obama’s online fundraising appeals, ‘I just kept punching it when I got the emails,’ she said, ‘I’m an insane supporter.’
Christian Skeem from Chicago says he got a letter back from the campaign with a check, ‘I couldn’t give them more than the limit because they kept sending it back, it wasn’t like they weren’t on the ball.’ The reason he gave so much? ‘Cause I’m a fan,’ he said.
You too can get on the GOP’s hit list. You know what to do.
“only oil company exec donations are legit”-Carol McCain’s abandoner
Gosh darn it, wouldn’t it have been convenient if, when Obama broke his pledge and renounced public financing, he also could have skipped those pesky finance laws?
And jr seems more obsessed about how John McCain treated Carol McCain than most people… including Carol McCain. How gallant. How chivalrous.
How presumptuous.
Good thing she’s just a woman, and can’t be trusted to exercise her own judgment on how she handles her own relationships. How comforting it must be for her to know that jr stands ready and eager to substitute his own judgment for hers, that he will carry on the bitterness that she has foolishly left behind, that he will make sure she doesn’t get over past wrongs and rebuild a cordial relationship with the father of her children. Thanks, jr. I dunno where we, as a society, would be without strong men like you to take care of those foolish, weak, emotional women who can’t be trusted to make their own decisions about their lives.
J.
The donations from Paletinian terrorists in Gaza are just peachy…
“There is no refund made to the Gaza donors Adwan, Osama and Edwan ………. and when Simpson of the Wall Street Journal was asked if he would be following up on the Gaza story – he said, no. There is no governance, there is no rule of law — it’s chaos.”
Just because Carol McCain was saintly enough to forgive John for his serial infidelities, and his eventual abandonment of her and their children, does not mean the rest of us can’t point out that such behavior is despicable.
Oh, and I’m pretty sure jr’s one-liners are meant to be funny, not the source of ultimate wisdom. Even so, he rarely misses.
Those donors, who try to give more than the legal limit, are idiots. They are hurting Obama’s campaign by making them work harder by refunding them. And it gives some political capital to Obama’s opponents. If they are such enthusiastic supporters, their efforts would be better spent volunteering for the campaign or donating to another related group.
Hell, charities do need it especially now-a-days. It will be hard for people to donate to charity when they lost their job or their business goes downhill in the financial crisis. For example, food banks have been getting crushed lately, from what I’ve heard. If these overzealous donors to Obama’s campaign really want to make the world a better place, they should donate to charities instead rather than continue to pour money into his campaign that needs to be refunded.
Instead of linking to Obama’s campaign contribution page, link to a needy charity instead.
And jr seems more obsessed about how John McCain treated Carol McCain than most people
Ind33d.
Almost as obsessed as some folks are about the Annenberg Challenge.
Heh.
Mr. Tea, how did Carol McCain’s good friends Ron and Nancy Reagan react to Mr. McCain’s philandering?
The donations from Paletinian terrorists in Gaza
And shame on you, willie. The legality of contributions aside, you’re assuming that any and all Palestinians are “terrorists.”
Bigotry much?
Yes, shame on you, willie. The Palestinians who donated to Obama are probably not terrorists.
The several members of their family who are very prominent members of Hamas probably are, though.
Quaker, why the hell are you asking me that incredibly stupid and pointless question? Is it because Reagan was the first divorced president? Do you think me some sort of Reagan scholar?
Or are you just trying to toss up more irrelevant BS to distract people from noticing how many of Obama’s contributions violate the law?
J.
Is it because Reagan was the first divorced president?
No, Mr. Tea. It’s because it has been reported widely that Mr. and Mrs. Reagan found Mr. McCain’s behavior shocking and that they cut him out of their social circle as a result.
The Gipper said it was wrong.
are you just trying to toss up more irrelevant BS to distract people from noticing how many of Obama’s contributions violate the law?
Some guys get on the Internet and send money. I’m sure that is clear evidence that Mr. Obama is going to…do something…
You’re spreading Pam Geller’s bs now?
‘I just kept punching it when I got the emails,’ she said, ‘I’m an insane supporter.’
Shorter Right-wing: See!?!?!? AHHHHHH!!!
Relax, JT. I’m sure no one considers you a scholar of any sort on any subject. I’m also pretty sure Quaker is talking about your condescending response to jr’s one-liner that led off this thread. Clever of you to pretend that it was meant to be a sexist joke. And by “clever” I mean “deliberately obtuse.”
The several members of their family who are very prominent members of Hamas probably are, though.
If you have the goods, cough em up, Mr. Tea. You haven’t given us any reason to take your word for it.

Easy enough, Quaker.
As for the Reagan bit… I dunno how true what you say is (you offer no sources, and I’m about as inclined to take your word for anything as you are for mine), but I’ll note that the Reagans haven’t had “social circles” for a couple of decades and Nancy Reagan has endorsed McCain for president — a quick Googling of “Nancy Reagan” “John McCain” shows that she appeared with him and gave her endorsement last March.
Amazing… McCain’s actions in the 1970’s and 1980’s is critically important to the election, but what Obama did in the 1990’s and in the current decade gets a pass? Looks like another case of IOKIYAR (It’s OK If You’re Attacking Republicans).
J.
Amazing… McCain’s actions in the 1970’s and 1980’s is critically important to the election, but what Obama did in the 1990’s and in the current decade gets a pass?
Are you trying to tell me you don’t watch Fox?
McCain’s actions at any time in the past (other than his POW! days) have been noticeably unexamined. However, the names Ayers and Wright have been household words for about a year now.
From the link Mr. Tea provided:
Not terrorists. Not Hamas. So willie is nothing more than a big ol’ bigot! Mr. Tea proves it! Thanks, Mr. Tea!
a quick Googling of “Nancy Reagan” “John McCain” shows
Try Googling “Nancy Reagan” and “Carol McCain”.
Oh, geez, Quaker got me. He done went and proved that I SAID SOMETHING TRUE.
First, I said:
The Palestinians who donated to Obama are probably not terrorists.
(sic>The several members of their family who are very prominent members of Hamas probably are, though.
Yeah, I shouldn’t have included the “The.” I’m not sure why I put that there — I might have been thinking of “Though.”
Anyway, Quaker rebuts me by quoting the article I linked to:
The Edwans denied they are affiliated with Hamas. Palestinian sources in Gaza confirmed the Edwans in question are secular, but could not say whether they supported Hamas.
The Edwans being cited here are the brothers who made illegal donations to Obama, not the entire clan — which is clear if you read the article. Otherwise, the later line — which I quoted — makes no sense:
The Edwans are a large clan that include top Hamas supporters.
Congratulations, Quaker. You just proved that, when cornered and fact-checked, I was correct.
I feel so ashamed.
Especially when I started out by slamming someone who is nominally on my side on this issue.
J.
I’m shocked, Mr. Tea.
Young willie opens by calling the Edwans “terrorists.”
I follow by challenging his characterization as bigotry.
Then along comes you to side with willie, adding:
Does this mean your pal willie is now “under the bus” as you hip conservative kids like to say? Also, by “members of their family” do you mean people who have the same name?
I started out by slamming someone who is nominally on my side
And here I thought you were engaging in a little sarcasm at my expense! Deepest apologies for doubting your sincerity, Mr. Tea!
More to de-cloak from moderation, above.
I started out by slamming someone who is nominally on my side
Crap, wrong thread…
J.
I got this thread confused with this one:

Oh and Mr. Tea? Aaron Klein and Maria Sliwa?
I hope you’re supplementing your reading with more, how shall we say, trustworthy sources of information.
