Jaim: even in the worst case scenario Dems are going to make huge pick-ups in Congress.

The adults are coming back, thank god.

I'll prefer the Dems to the Repubs just about any day. But until they show they can grow a real spine I can't think of them as the adults.

I'm thinking things are looking real good for Obama. But then I have to remind myself, even in the worst case scenario Dems are going to make huge pick-ups in Congress.

The adults are coming back, thank god.

Couple things in Obama's favor:

1) a winning Senate candidate in native Tarheel daughter AND progressive Kay Hagan (I love her regarding transit policy) punting Liddy Dole back to Kansas or wherever

and

2) Team Obama's ground game is bloody terrific nationwide, but especially in the surprise swing states. Team McCain got arrogant and failed to set up a proper ground game while Obama has no such problems.

Eventually the migration to Charlotte and the Triangle of all those yankees was going to have an effect, especially in banking and tech. Pretty soon we are going to start talking about Virginia and North Carolina as mid-Atlantic states like Maryland, not former Confederate states.

I've seen the polls and McCain's now reduced to having to campaign there, but I still can't wrap my head around the Good Guys winning NC (the Helms-Gantt election still rankles something awful). That virtually said, if the We do prevail in NC, I swear--and I'm not bluffing this time--I'll dance a jig.
