They said Sarah Palin did well enough in the debate that Tina Fey wouldn’t find anything to parody. Um, no.
For me, the other funny clip was the Mary Poppins one. Anne Hathaway did a good job, and poking fun at Disney is always a good laugh.

I thought the debate sketch was their funniest skewering of Palin to date; and I laughed at some of the Biden stuff, too, in spite of myself. And Hathaway was great, especially her Julie Andrews impression.
But did you see their “bailout” sketch? Who wrote that, the commentators at Powerline? It was sheer right-wing paranoia, complete with George freaking Soros. WTF??
More here, if you like: http://policomic.wordpress.com/2008/10/05/george-soros-really/
Policomic, I had the same “WTF” reaction on the bailout skit. How the HELL did that show up on SNL? Funny AND accurate!
“George Soros
Multi-billionaire Hedge Fund Manager
Owner, Democratic Party”
Could this be a pre-emptive nod to a resurgent Fairness Doctrine?
I’m betting just an aberration.
J.
I’m sure the Soros skit is just a sop to the wingnuts to get them to tone down the hate mail they’re sending to the SNL staff for impugning St. Sarah of Mooseburgerstan.
Tina Fey’s impersonation of Sarah Palin is so dead on that when Gov. Paling walked out on stage during the real debate, I couldn’t help but think it was really Tina Fey. Great skit though. The Biden and Ifill impersonations were great too.
Could this be a pre-emptive nod to a resurgent Fairness Doctrine?
Boo-hoo. The conservatives need SNL to write their funny for them since they can’t do it themselves. It’s just not faaaaair.
The bailout sketch is so O’Reilly can only rip NBC on half his program instead of the entrie thing
GE owned NBC is so deathly afraid of the RW backlash they have to prove some sort of false equivalency. Its a joke..
Equal time?
The debate skit is awesome….but,
How can some of you people complain about the Bailout Skit!? It was hilarious and pretty much accurate. I guess you’re not looking for informed, intelligent comedy. You just want 90 minutes of Leftist propaganda.
How is it possible for you to hold such a blatent double-standard?!?
To SNL, I give you credit for writing humor for the sake of being humorous, and not solely as an attack on Republicans.
