Onward to the crucial battleground of Massachusetts!

  2. Dennis says:

Just shows she’s not arrogant as the opposition party. After all , this is the United States of America.

People everywhere like her. They want to see her. And she wants to see them.

Democrats seem to have a difficult time with that concept.

  3. Tom says:

I’m sure it was tied to a fundraiser – they are desperate for every dollar because of the number of red states in play, and the “starbursts” bring out the 22%ers and their checkbooks.

  4. TrayDance says:

Hey, she’s got to see as many of the lower 48 as she can before she gets sent back to Alaska!!!

  5. Parthenon says:

Phillip Baker Tom – I’m confused, I thought the McCain ticket had to stop fundraising now that they’re past the convention, since they’re taking public funds?

Yeah…in an Irwin Allen kind of way.

    John McCain, not so much.

“People everywhere like her. They want to see her. And she wants to see them.”

    Translation: she sure is cute.

Not what I’m looking for in an elected official.

Sure she is. It’s not every day a star from Saturday Night Live comes to town.

  10. buma says:

I believe she went to Texas for fundraisers too. It’s a twofer: She’s more popular with the base than McCain and there are no press conferences or interviews.

“Just shows she’s not arrogant as the opposition party.”

In other words, “I acknowledge that McCain is running a horrible campaign.”

RE the fundraising question, the McCain campaign can no longer raise money for itself, but it can and does raise money for the RNC, at $35000 a pop, instead of the $2300 allowed for candidates’ campaigns. There are limitations on how the RNC can spend the money, and on coordination between the RNC and the campaign, but McCain’s troops have made it very clear that they intend to stretch those rules to within an inch of their lives. And note that while Obama has achieved unprecedented fundraising, the RNC and McCain together have been mostly able to match the total of the DNC and Obama – McCain’s fundraising has been much less impressive, but it takes a lot of $100 checks to match a lobbyist’s or a corporate executive’s $35000.
