Sarah Palin Thinks She’s Vice President Already

Sigh

‘The pundits today on TV—one of them was saying, check out the vice president’s schedule, check out where she’s going—she’s going to Nebraska,’ Palin said. ‘But the pundit was saying the only reason she’d be going there is ‘cause they’re scared, so they gotta go there and shore up votes. And I so wanted to reach into that TV and say no, I’m going to Nebraska because I want to go to Nebraska.

Don’t you ever sleep? If the posting times of your items are to be believed, you’ve been awake for twenty-three hours. Get some rest!

    Not yet you aren’t, miss.

This is what keeps me up at night. Even the thought of her in the white house scares the crap out of me.

  4. Mike B. says:

What’s more, it’s not true. No one in recorded history has ever wanted to go to Nebraska.

So a month before the election and a vice presidential candidate decides to engage in tourism? Does that strike anyone as a little bit odd?

  6. Jay Tea says:

Big deal. Obaam introduced Biden as “the next president of the United States.” Biden introduced Obama as “Barack America.” This gotcha game is weak.

    Jay Tea,

Don’t you think calling yourself the CURRENT VP (when, uh, you’re not) is different and, dare I say more insane and egomanical, than calling yourself the NEXT VP?

Oliver’s right: hubris is certainly unbecoming.

    It really is.

  10. Yeah, I was standing about 30 feet from her when she said that, aiming my video camera at her over the heads of the throng that piled into Omaha’s Civic Auditorium last night to see her. That line caught my ear, too; both for the little pundit line, and for the obvious lie she tossed in about demanding that she make a stop in Omaha. Bullshit. This is a candidate they didn’t even bother to tell about shutting down Michigan, and now she’s calling political plays? My asshole. Omaha itself — Nebraska’s second Congressional District; I live in CD1 — is trending Blue, and Obama could pick up a single — though surely not decisive — electoral vote in Omaha since we split our 3 EVs based on the winner of their Congressional District. So Omaha — and really just Omaha — IS on the political map, and McCain did need her to make a stop to rally the rednecks for some support. So there’s no way she just decided to go see some Nebraskans on a Sunday night; she’s clearly not Electoral Collegiate enough to understand that Omaha’s in play.

  11. she won’t have a press conference….that’s how you communicate to the media and the public about your schedule…mocking anyone for not knowing your intentions when you won’t have a press conference is dumb.

who is she talking to that would not see the insanity behind her comments?

…waiting for wingnuts to call her statement presumptuous…

  13. Sean D. Martin says:

SaveFarris: Oliver’s right: hubris is certainly unbecoming.

So if that was presumptuous and wrong, why isn’t Palin’s comment?

Why is the response never “Yeah, my guy/gal shouldn’t have done that. As your guy/gal shouldn’t have before.” Why is it always just the last part?
