John McCain and Keating Economics
Tweet
The full documentary will be here on Monday. Here is the teaser.
The campaign says that McCain’s involvement in the Savings and Loan crisis directly impacts the current economic problems and is indicative of a mindset of deregulation and lack of oversight that led to the financial industry meltdown.
“His involvement with Keating is a window into McCain’s economic past, present, and future,” says Obama spokesman Dan Pfeiffer.
“The Keating Five involved all the things that have brought the modern crisis. Senator McCain has not learned the lesson, and has continued to follow policies that are going to produce a disaster,” former bank regulator William Black says in the Obama campaign’s new documentary-style Web attack.
The Obama campaign is not to be effed with.
ALSO: This documentary and other evidence of John McCain’s long-term affair with deregulation directly ties into the current collapse of the financial markets. Unlike the McCain campaign’s flailing character attacks, John McCain had a role in the plague now infecting the American economy.

Awesum! I supposed the Obama camp has been holding Keating in reserve until the final stretch, and the timing couldn’t be better!
Here’s hoping the Obama campaign kicks McCain square in the nuts every day between now and November, and wear steel-toed boots while doing it!
I know this is offtopic, but I thought you’d enjoy this from FARK: Obama = ? Biden = ? McCain = ? Palin = ?… you’ve seen the meme, here’s the thread (Voting Enabled)
(I linked to the voting results.)
This has a good chance of pushing McCain over the edge of insanity. He’s already astoundingly angry at the press and scournful of Obama. Having to defend himself over his past crimes could trigger more outbursts.
btw I love how Obama has done this before the remaining debates. A lot of people watching the first one noticed how McCain was already so angry. He’s going to be even more agitated at the debate focusing on the economy on Tuesday.
Let’s see… a scandal 20 yearsa go in which McCain was found to have NOT violated ethics rules is critically important, but Obama’s work at the Chicago Annenberg Challenge as recently as six years ago is more germane? McCain’s relationship with Charles Keating is crucial to understanding the man’s character, but Obama’s relationships with William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright are smears?
For the record, while at the CAC, Obama collaborated with an confessed, unrepentant terrorist in overseeing the spending of over $150 million dollars for “improving” Chicago’s schools… but in the end, made no appreciable difference whatsoever. On the other hand, many longtime Ayers cronies did collect hefty sums for their “educational” programs.
No wonder Obama doesn’t mention this seven-year phase of his life in his books, and sics his goons on anyone who does any digging into them.

Democrats are doing anything they can to deflect responsibility away from themselves for this currant economic crisis. The reluctance is understandable enough but what about this site? Is is economic ignorance or intellectual dishonesty that refuses to face this issue in a straight forward manner? The comment section here draws it’s various digital brown shirts. It is sad to see the parallels here in this country with history and fascism.
It is frightening yet a wee bit humorous to hear blue American tough guy keyboard commandos threaten violence. These followers of Obama sure are a good example of his ability to transcend the political divide. We may very well have to suffer through a term of Obama. Jimmy Carter’s failed administration gave us Reagan. Obama may be the price we have to pay. That 150 million he wasted in Illinois will be but a drop in the bucket compared to the costs Obama will saddle us with on the federal level. The Republicans have been a perfect example of the corruption of power. They will seem like boy scouts compared to a full blown Democratic administration and legislature.

Fixed the first word for you, but I left the “currant” in. I like currants with my oatmeal
Ack. Strikeout inside of italics worked on preview.
Amused Observer (I picture Orson Welles in a smoking jacket and ascot):
In this “currant” economic crisis, there is plenty of blame to go around, but I place most of it with the let-the-fox-guard-the-henhouse philosophy of government espoused by Bush, McCain, and you.
I haven’t seen any of us “keyboard commandos” threatening violence, unless you mean the METAPHORICAL “kick in the nuts” called for by Rheinhard.
Tell the truth, AO: you and Frank “I’vebeenaconservativesince1960butnotaracist” DiSalle are the same guy, right?
Gosh Thanks Mr. Steve,
A little humor at my expense.
I don’t think you are actually facing up to reality regarding the responsibility for this mess. It is a complex issue but quite important. It is understandable that many people are ignorant about it. If all you want is a partisan axe to grind, have at it. But you are only fooling yourself. Here is a bit of a test question, What is a black swan event?
You are going to have to work to actually find anything out. It takes a bit of digging and a fair amount of reading to begin to get a handle on this. Here is a bit of a clue, much of what politicians say about this is not true.
There is an old economic maxim that goes something like this: If something can’t go on forever, it won’t.
Interesting concept of “don’t look here, look there” Mr. Observer. I prefer the “cooked goose” event.
Quick, look here.
Killer link, Mister Steve.

You can’t have it both ways, jay. If you’re gonna keep beating your dead horse, we are gonna break ours out.
Jay Tea, please go to “previous posts”, and read PG’s comment under “McCain’s Terror Connection.”
Then go screw yourself.
