If/when Obama wins this election, one of the big post-election stories is likely to be the triumph of localized advertising. I don’t have the numbers in hand, but this sort of ad rather than the big national ad shot of the past that the McCain campaign uses seems to be in pretty heavy rotation. Obama’s camp sees mostly unconcerned with what the cable talk show issue du jour is, for better or worse, whereas serial tv guest McCain has run a campaign that’s almost all about the machine’s demands.

That’s a great ad, appealing to reglur folks an’ all. I just wish it did not end with a gentle sounding dude saying, “Paid for by…” It should have ended with a more manly sounding voice, or maybe a woman’s voice. Reglur folks clearly prefer one or the other, not anything like a blurring of the two.
