GOP Bigot Eruption: New Mexico’s Fernando C. de Baca
Tweet
Another Republican tells us how he really feels.
Embattled Bernalillo County Republican Party Chairman Fernando C. de Baca has officially resigned.
The state Republican Party officially reported the resignation in a news release just after 3 p.m. Thursday.
Last weekend, C. de Baca was quoted in a BBC News blog as saying, “The truth is that Hispanics came here as conquerors. African-Americans came here as slaves. … Hispanics consider themselves above blacks. They won’t vote for a black president.”
At the rate they’re going, hispanic Americans are going to look at hispanic Republicans the way blacks look at black Republicans/conservatives: A little sad and a lot amused.

Speaking for this Hispanic in New Mexico: too late.
It’s like they want to lose. … What other explanation is there?
What other explanation is there?
Years of being told that their world view is right have finally made them completely unable to see reality?
The creepiest thing about Baca’s quote is that I’m assuming, given his party affiliation and that the potential “black president” he’s talking about (Obama,of course) is a Democrat, he said these words in an APPROVING context.
How is it that the descendants of people native to the Americas relate so proudly to the people who originally oppressed them? Those oppressors were a genetic minority. Baca in all probability remains more genetically native than he cares to admit. Amazing. His history sucks also. To accurately understand the relatioship between Native Americans and Africans you must study Pre – Colombian history.
There you will find that the first Africans who came to the Americas before Colombus came in peace during the Malian voyages, not slavery.
