Good work from the Obama campaign here to scare the crap out of those who might be getting complacent.

Good ad.
Yeah, I need to get back to phone banking.
Good ad, but how did it get produced? Did NBC give permission to VoteforChange.org to use their logo and to use the image of Tom Brokaw and his and Keith Olbermann’s voices? If so, that could put NBC in some really hot water, ethically speaking, and if not, it could put whoever did make the ad in some really hot water. That’s my concern with it. But as for overall “scare the crap out of you” effect, very nicely done.
(oops – meant VoteforChange.com, not .org)
I’m working as much as I can, contribuiting as much as I can.
I’ve been saying for months – get down to the nearest Obama office and do WHATEVER they want you to do. Sweep the floor, make calls, WHATEVER they SAY they need done – do it!
America is just weeks away from our future or repeating our past. Our recent past is too scary, just too fu*king scary to repeat.
Hell No. This commerical will give me nightmares. Don’t like it wish I didn’t even see this one.
I hate to have to interject a note of reality into the discussion, but it was more than obvious watching the debate that Obama is essentially just a Bush clone. His foreign and economic policies are virtually identical, it’s impossible to deny that now. I was considering voting for him before, but that would be unconscionable at this point. I mean, come on, advocating a blatantly illegal invasion of Pakistan is about as right-wing and off-the-wall as you can get. I’ll be voting third-party, and I hope plenty of others will as well. Or at least abstain. Unless you want more war, then he’s your man. Sorry, but he just doesn’t have what it takes. I really wish he did. Time to move to other parties.
DO NOT WANT
mike, you must be joking. If not, you’re totally fucking blind. A dose of reality, indeed… Don’t be an idiot.
That was a failed joke or a poor attempt at doing a sock puppet argumentation of a disillusioned independent/Democrat. Bad news: the idea that people could be that dumb to fall for it is just wishful thinking on your part. Leave the “dark arts” to the experts and go back to fetching coffee and stuffing envelopes, little man
Mike, my God, man, what’s wrong with your EARS??
Did you ever hear Obama utter the word “invasion”?
Covert military action to take out “high value al-Qaida targets” in Pakistan is not an “invasion.” It’s common fucking sense. These are the people who killed 3000 of our citizens. If Pakistan is unable or unwilling to act against them, we should.
If Bob Barr or Ralph Nader were president, and they were presented with the opportunity to take out Bin Laden, I bet they would. Who the hell wouldn’t?
Kucinich isn’t running, man. There is not gonna be any “Department of Peace.” Grow the hell up.
Please Oliver–don’t give Farris and Jay an excuse for a wet dream
This ad rocks. Make voters leave McCain like he left Carol
I’ve started doing my bit, five hours at the field office making phone calls, which, believe it or not, is actually very hard for me given I have a “people thing”. I can’t knock on doors, and when the common area all of a sudden flooded with high school students from Maryland, I ducked into a side office until they went away.
But I went.
What hit me was how smug and stupid McCain is and was on the debate. Not an inch of decency. Not even close to Presidential. More like a school bully who knows he is losing his power to push people around. What I can’t understand is some people will still vote for him even after the economy is crashing and people are dying in needless wars. I used to ask whether these people are stupid. Now I know, “yes, they are”. One thing for them… If McCain wins – it’s your choice. You make your choice. Live with it, pay up the next $700 billion+ and shut the f*ck up. You just lost your right to b*tch.

Not an add that would scare most people who’ve been through 2000 and 2004 or the 80s. Dukakis!! Like he was way ahead and still let a lame arrogant sob like Bush1 beat him.
Scared if McCain wins….nah, just sad and worried.
Don’t dump on Mike so much…Obama did drink the Israel- is- threatened- by- Iraq coolaid…..as it’d be impossible for him not to be in order to be remotely electable. There was a Congresswoman named Cynthia once wasn’t there?
We can cheer Obama on but still don’t expect a Messiah either….with advisors like Larry Summers, Treasury of Sec Rubin…we’ll have to suffer a lot……but not as much if we have McSame war-all-the-time McCain.
I think another Nuclear War equals McCain ad is in order.
the politics of fear rears its head …
As if you have any problem whatsoever with that.
What’s scary about the ad to you, Farris? How is this ad the “politics of fear?”
Try to think of another election in which the mere specter of the opponent winning could elicit similar shudders. And motivate us to greater action.
If anyone says this election is a matter of the “lesser of two evils” I’ll floor him.
Farris, I’m sure your opinion was similar when the Republicans used Osama bin Laden and Sept. 11 in campaign ads.
This is a phenomenal ad. It’s the sort of the thing some conservatives (do you REALLY want to see Speaker Nancy Pelosi?) have been doing informally for years.
Farris: the politics of fear rears its head
Palin: “As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where do they go? It’s Alaska.”
Farris, we know who’s writing your material.
Tina Fey.
If Pakistan is unable or unwilling to act against them, we should.
And, it should be pointed out, we have.
This ad is brilliant. It closely resembled something I scratched down on a post-it note two weeks ago: “dems should make an ad where they say, if you could go back in time to nov2000 and vote against Bush, wouldn’t you? and then tie that to mccain.”
