Conservative columnist Kathleen Parker calls for Sarah Palin to drop out because she’s clearly “out of her league”.
I could have told you that a few weeks ago. My guess is that in a few days we may see Palin as another McCain stunt that failed.

Even the columnist is right (and it looks to me as though she is), Sen. McCain won’t dump her. It’s like turning in all your pieces in scrabble – feels like a good fresh start for a minute, but it’s pretty much an acknowledgement you’ve got almost no chance.
Kathleen Parker isn’t Conservative. She’s from Wingnut Central. Be advised.
Should read “…isn’t merely ‘Conservative’…”
Oh, no way McCain gets rid of Palin.
The NRO allowed this to be published?
I’d check again in another 24 hours to see if it’s still there.
I mean, she’s _right_ about Palin being a dipstick, but the Cons have bet all of their few remaining chips on her.
There’s honestly more reason to drop Palin than there was for Tom Eagleton.
There’s a meme to push.
Sorry Kathleen, it’s not happening if the support of James Dobson and friends still matter
McCain’s stuck taking that train ride with Palin to the end of the line
Wow.
When you’ve lost Kathleen Parker, you’re in real trouble with the wingnut Right.
Perhaps her kid will have ‘health problems’ and she will be forced to give up politics to ’spend more time with her family.’
(Note, I am not wishing ill on her kid. In fact, I don’t think the kid would actually be sick. It would just be an excuse.)
However, I don’t think this is likely. After all, for Republicans it is better to be Strong and Wrong than to admit a mistake and try and fix it.
For Ms Parker to refer to Palin – in any context – as a “feminist” is an appalling distortion. Any woman who would support giving their daughters the “choice” of a coat hanger or a doctor – and chooses the coat hanger – THAT woman is NOT a feminist.
Christians the world over – with the exception of the US – KNOW that gay issues and reproductive issues are PERSONAL CHOICE issues NOT SOCIETY issues. Any Christian that allows 43 million children to NOT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE but then screams about gays and abortion PROVES they are totally OUT OF TOUCH with what SOCIETY MEANS.
Every country in the FREE world – except ours – believes we ARE our brothers’ keeper.

That’s a good point. Trig’s a built-in escape clause.
Though Republicans typically don’t want to spend more time with the family unless they’re under investigation.
Oh, wait..
Apparently the McCain people are very worried about Palin:

Ok, I have to admit that it seems so counter-intuitive that McCain would give Sarah the boot that maybe this is the next big stunt from a master stuntman. Don’t understimate a maverick gambler!
There may be more of this as we get closer to the night of the VP debate. And afterwards if she has a bad night there may be a few McCain campaign staffers executing a bailout of their own.
Too bad they didn’t pick Condi. Right, Franko?
