Sarah Palin And The McCain Campaign Lie About Even The Smallest Things

pinocchioWhy?

Appearing on Fox last night, Sarah Palin told Sean Hannity a heartwarming story of how she asked her teenage daughters for their opinion before accepting the vp offer.

‘So ask the girls what they thought and they’re like, ‘Absolutely, let’s do this, Mom,’’ Palin recounted of her daughters, Bristol and Willow.

Yet, according to the campaign-provided timeline of how Palin’s selection came about, her kids only found out the big news after they were spirited from Alaska to Ohio for the announcement.

Asked about the discrepancy, Palin spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt said: ‘She asked the girls to vote once they arrived in Ohio.’

When it was noted that, that would have been after the decision had already been made, Schmitt said Palin was still in Arizona at the time.

This, of course, doesn’t change the fact that the children were already in Ohio for the express purpose of announcing he news.

McCain can’t run with what he’s got, so all we get are myths and distractions, like this:

  3. buma says:

I wish someone would ask her which year was it that Palin ‘dressed as Tina Fey on Halloween’.

  4. Chrys Rosen says:

Yeah I agree Buma and what did she wear to look like Tina Fey–a short skirt?? What a bozo she is. However, she is a better liar than he is as a liar/adlibber. Presidential qualifications? Please no!!!

  5. DonBoy says:

That’s when they voted on whether Bristol was getting married, too.

  6. mambochicken23 says:

Jay, did you really just ask, “So what?” Do you actually not give a flying fuck whether these people continuously lie, deceive, manipulate?

Sure, this lie is a small one. Will the next one be, as well? How about the 50th one?

The woman is running to be VP and she can’t tell the truth about something as small as this. She feels that she needs to manipulate the audience with bullshit. And your response is, “So what?”

    Give me a fucking break.

  7. jr says:

    “lying is my anti-drug”-secessionist Sarah

  8. Duros Hussein62 says:

    Country First, right, Jay?

  9. mambochicken23 says:

McCain is all about “Country First.” As for the people though, it’s more along the lines of , “Well, fuck ‘em. Stupid asses will believe anything.”

  10. Duros Hussein62 says:

Yes, it’s Country First, People Second, if at all.

  11. fafaroo says:

    “So What?”

Jay, you’re losing your credibility faster than McCain is and it’s not like either one of you had all that much in the bank to begin with.

  12. buma says:

    So what?

Jay brings teh Cheney. I suppose he would prefer that McCain stick with the issues.

  13. Rachel Sklar says:

Wait, I thought she said yes and didn’t blink? Isn’t “Wait, I have to ask my daughters” blinking?

  14. Jaim says:

Did she help invent the Blackberry too?

  15. C.S.Strowbridge says:

    “So what?”

Yeah, the truth doesn’t matter if you are a Republican. Denying reality has become second nature for these people.

Oh, but C, I’m going to have to disagree with you again (yeah, I know. Teh shock.). At least where Jay is involved. With his “So what?” he clearly acknowledges that Palin is a liar.

(But then, so is Jay. So it’s not surprising he both recognizes one and sees nothing wrong with it.)

  17. Faz1 says:

Jay – ‘So what?’. In an effort to woo the voters she is making stuff up. Does she not have any real heart warming stories to talk about?

If not then maybe the ‘hockey mum’ brand (a USP for) is all a lie. Does this not then lend credence to the suggestion she is just a pawn in the battle for women’s vote?

  18. essrog says:

Now that’s what I call commitment … to lying

“Oh, but C, I’m going to have to disagree with you again (yeah, I know. Teh shock.). At least where Jay is involved. With his “So what?” he clearly acknowledges that Palin is a liar.”

Lying is denying reality. He’s so used to it that he doesn’t care.

What did I say that you disagree with?

  20. essrog says:

So what, Charlie? Lying is the official campaign strategy and this is effective brand management

  21. Sean D. Martin says:

CSS: What did I say that you disagree with?

Nothing in this thread. I was tongue-in-cheek referring to some of our previous go-arounds.

(Which I’m all for putting behind us if you are.)
