The ‘lie’ word has a lot of charge behind it, and ought to be reserved for obviously deliberate deception. However, speaking as objectively as I can, I’m not sure how anyone could argue that the McCain campaign hasn’t engaged in some of that recently.

I agree that the word “lie” has been used more during this campaign than in many others. You neglect to posit a reason for the frequency of it’s use.

I think it’s because John McCain and Sarah Palin have been telling so many of them.

Just fyi. Republicans are not attacking Biden for a reason.

Someone please show me any poll aside from a Daily Kos poll that proved that attacking Palin 24/7 was paying off.

Willie Horton was no relection on Mondale. Dukakis was the Pres. candidate, genius. Edwards… haircut, ok, criticism and making fun of a douchebag, but you couldn’t make any case whatsoever that he got anywhere close to the scrutiny as Palin. If you had Lexus.Nexis you could prove that for yourself since you’d never believe me. Pull up memeorandum.com every once in a while and see for yourself how many articles are about Sarah America, mostly against. Tell me if Edwards had all kinds of shit made up about him, then when they were debunked, scant few retractions.

Blank women in politics at the governor level don’t receive 80% approval ratings and the commendations of her opposition the way Palin has as governor of Alaska. Somehow that little tidbit of information always escapes the liberal objective talking points.

And if they did and were faced with the reality that all the polls are telling them that the strategy was backfiring like they are with Palin now, you can be damn sure they would cease and desist and come up with an alternative strategy.

Look, perhaps the reason everybody is obsessing about her is that she’s an unknown entity. Everybody else on your list are or were pretty well known within the political and media circles. This woman is a blank.

First, you’re wrong.

Second, even if you were right, perhaps it’s because she’s so exceedingly unqualified to be VP. I.e., perhaps it’s because she deserves to be bashed.

Joe Lieberman? No

Al Gore as VP? No

G. Ferraro? No, not even close.

I’ll keep going if you’d like, and I’ll concede that this woman just entered the scene, to you anyway, not to us. Even still, you cannot stop posting about her, nor can any liberal blogs, not the NY Times, not the WaPo, not the cable stations, not the MSM, not every liberal pundit, not Team Obama.

Republicans don’t generally waste their time digging up dirt on the VP candidate for a reason. They don’t report on hearsay about VP candidates usually, not with the same fervor done to Palin. For the record, I thought that Roseanne was inarticulate and not particularly interesting. Janeane Garofalo was great. As Bill Maher pointed out, there’s a difference in what is politically expedient and what is truth. I’m talking about truth here. This is truly remarkable.

Here we have a commenter who tells us that “bashing” Sarah Palin drives up support for the Republican ticket. “Keep bashing Sarah. Americans just love that,” he tells us. “It is why you lose,” he says.

The commenter has announced a direct cause-and-effect relationship: “Liberals” bash the conservative candidate, voters react by voting for the conservative candidate. Actual positions and policies? Not part of the equation. “Bashing” = more votes, it’s that simple. It seems that our commenter believes that many people decide how to vote not by what is best for the country, but by choosing whoever “liberals” don’t like.

But that’s not the part I find remarkable. What’s really astounding is this: “Janeane Garfolo and Roseanne Barr probably made you very happy, but they’re [sic] hatred at all things Republican and their lack of ability to make clear, concise and correct arguments without fomenting [sic] at the mouth only drove Fund’s point home for anyone watching with an objective viewpoint.”
