Hey Obama! Run (A Version Of) This Ad!

A reader named Travis sent me a link to this video and said we should see an Obama version of this. I agree.
Oh by, remember common sense regulation of trade? It should make a comeback.
Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama said regulation of Wall Street needs to “catch up” with changes in financial markets, and investors can’t expect taxpayers to bail them out in bad times.
Obama said the role of ratings services must be examined as part of any revamping of the way markets are monitored and regulated, and he suggested that he doesn’t favor having the government stepping in to rescue failing firms.
“The idea that taxpayers can continue to be on the hook for failures at firm after firm after firm I think is a real problem,” Obama said in an interview tonight with Bloomberg Television.

I think if they are going to run a hopeful ad like that, they need to run a hard-hitting one taking ownership of GOP issues like this:

Yes!
It’s clear, gets the point across, reassures fence-sitters that Obama’s on top of the economic mess, and focuses on the issue that will carry Obama over the finish line.
Hope someone at Obama HQ is paying attention.
Big Dog FTW!
I don’t watch TV, so I haven’t seen any ads that don’t get discussed and put up on YouTube, but what I really like about the ad is his holding a copy of his plan, and telling people to call to get a copy of that plan.
I really have no idea what Obama has done in this regard in his commercials, but as much as we are all surfing the net, just having various urls to his plan, is just not the same message as holding it in dead tress version in his hand, and telling people to call up to get a copy of it snail mailed to them.
The interesting thing is they have a book that they just released in bookstores a couple weeks ago. I dunno if they are pushing it or what, but I’ve seen it in the wild.
President Clinton’s plan is still available.
Very nice. There are even earlier precedents. I like the idea of Obama in somebody’s living room chatting rather than off by himself at a rostrum.

Another interesting way to look at this is that it took Clinton 8 years to turn the country around, and it took Bush II another 8 years to knock us back to where we were in ’92! I mean, are we really back to worrying about the same issues that were prevalent in the early 1990s? You gotta hand it to the Bush family, they sure know how to take a country back a step or two
If you dial that same number now a woman’s voice recruits you to a 900 line where you can “have a good time together.” Symbolic?
