Damage Control

McCain/Palin is turning to Republican propagandist Sean “Talking Points” Hannity for Sarah Palin’s next interview. Sample question: “Governor, whats it like standing up to negative sexist attacks from a secret Muslim terrorist like Barack Obama?”

I guess Rush Limbaugh was busy that day.

  • Nah O-dub, Hannity will be more nuanced, something like this:

“Since you’re such an awesome hockey mom, how does it feel for pedophiles, muslims, and gays to want sneak into your home and kill your family?”

    That’s my guess, at least.

But even with a Hannity throwing her softballs (”How’s the weather in Alaska?”) she still looks foolish. Foolish and not ready for anything more than dog-catcher.

Please, more Sarah Palin, even if it’s on FOX.

  • Hannity should be thrown off TV. Fox only has him on there for the money. The guy is a stupid bully. He reminds me of the dumbest thug on the Sopranos show.

Now that I just read about him on his Wiki page, it all makes sense. Look at the white town he grew up in. He perfectly fits the word MORON

  • No different than the Olberman-Obama love fest. Complete with campaign advice at no charge!

  • Well this totally makes sense.

Times are tough and we are seeing cutbacks and reduced value to the McCain brand “straight talk”. It’s no longer operative in any meaningful sense once you add the needed disclaimers to make it true: Straight Talk not valid where RNC talking points are not acknowledged and adhered to. Consult your script doctor and do not blink whenever using Straight Talk.

Use sparingly: prolonged exposure in media may result in a weakened suspension of disbelief and willingness to accept vast foreign policy experience absorbed from living next door to Alaska.

  • No different than the Olberman-Obama love fest. Complete with campaign advice at no charge!

Great point! I haven’t had a chance to check Governor Palin’s schedule, when will she be going on Olbermann or Maddow, just as Obama went on Papa Bear’s show? Or the Sunday morning talk shows? Soon, right?

  • Obama did O’Reilly, and he did the conservative evangelical conference thing. He knew he wouldn’t get their votes, but he knows his shit and isn’t afraid to speak “out of his element.”

I’d love to see Palin do a sit-down with Olbermann, or even Chris Matthews, who’s hardly a liberal.

Of course, she won’t. Because she’s the media equivalent of a loaded gun — not telling what creationist bullshit she might spout. Either that or threaten to invade Russia again.

  • Well sure, Obama has appeared on:

    Fox & Friends
    The O’Reilly Factor
    Meet The Press
    Face The Nation
    This Week
    Fox News Sunday
    Good Morning America
    Today
    CBS Early Show
    NBC Nightly News
    CBS Evening News
    ABC World News
    Hardball

So clearly there is equivalence between him getting interviewed by K.O. and Palin running into the warm embrace of Sean Hannity for her second national interview.

  • Palin has got Oliver comparing her to Obama again — gotchya!

  • You forgot 60 Minutes.

Shorter Chris Matthews interview: “You’re great.”

  • Jaim, she won’t because Olbermann won’t invite her. None dare enter Olby’s bubble unless they agree with him lock, stock, and barrell. Ask Dana Millbank.

  • I think you mean that she won’t because there will be actual questions about the presidency. And it will be on the tv. After Gibson, I think she’s learned her lesson to avoid those situations

  • Because it is fair to compare the interview schedule of a candidate who has been running for two years to a candidate who has been running for all of two weeks.

  • Has any candidate in history ventured outside the protective territory of friendly and reasonably neutral media like Sen. Obama?

Going to Xinhua for her second interview isn’t so bad, even if it is with Hannity (whose drooling over Romney and now Gov. Palin is pretty painful to witness). There are loads of people that only watch Fox, after all, and a candidate ought to make an effort to reach everybody. It’s only bad if it becomes a habit, or if she insists the tv is set to Fox before she enters a hotel room.

  • Keith Olbermann wouldn’t interview her. She doesn’t agree with all his viewpoints.

The first time she would say ‘No, Keith, I don’t hate the Republican Party. I disagree that only an idiot would.’ Keith wouldn’t know how to react.

  • Oh and Myrna, if you agree to take Olberman off the air, you can have Hannity.

  • Shorter Chris Matthews interview: “You’re great.”

More like, “Wow, what a swell dame. She’s real people. I know who real people are, because I make five million dollars a year. A-hah!”

OK, so Palin gets a pass on Olbermann. How about any non-FOX source other than that?

Nah, ain’t gonna happen. Too much damage would be done every time she opened her mouth.

  • Palin has got Oliver comparing her to Obama again — gotchya!

Damn, we almost forgot about McCain. Well, we wouldn’t be the only ones. What did he do yesterday? Some brunch and a crossword puzzle?

Keith Olbermann wouldn’t interview her. She doesn’t agree with all his viewpoints.

Ooooh….yeah. She’s way too tough for KO. Right.

  • “why are you so awesome?”-Sean to Sarah

  • I can’t wait for the moment when Hannity interrupts Palin in midsentence to correct her on the words that come out of her mouth just moments before:

    “…my Muslim Faith…”

    “You mean your Christian Faith.”

    “Oh. Right. My Christian Faith.”

“And you got a little something stuck in your teeth, right…there. Got it. Please continue.”

  • does hannity prove or disprove the theory of evolution? i can’t make up my mind. he sure doesn’t appear to be fully evolved though. numbskull.

  • “Jaim, she won’t because Olbermann won’t invite her. None dare enter Olby’s bubble unless they agree with him lock, stock, and barrell. Ask Dana Millbank.”

You are right, sort of. The only way people on the right can continue to support Bush and the rest of the Republicans is if they avoid opposing view point completely.

And why should Olbermann invite someone on his program who has a track record so bad that they are still supporting Bush?

  • Is it that Olbermann won’t invite her? Or that none dare enter unless they agree him? Don’t worry, you can have it both ways!

They’re equally bogus excuses for Palin not to face not just Olbermann, but the media in general … just substitute anything in place of “Olbermann” that she’s too unprepared to appear on, and it’s explained away for you desperate defenders

    Excuses, excuses

  • Mooselini’s scheduled interviews for next week:

    Sean Hannity
    Bill O’Reilly
    Britt Hume
    Steve Doocy
    Laura Ingraham

She’ll do her best to rehabilitate Dan Quayle’s reputation.

  • I guess she wants to go to war with Russia, too, before the seat in her prospective VP office is warm.

Well, I have seen and heard enough.

Sarah Palin = certified nutjob, in my view. Or, at the very least, far too far to the right for my liking.

The actual danger of her assuming the office of the Presidency won’t necessarily be the result of McCain checking out….in 4 years, he’s just not going to run again.

That scares the living b’jesuz out of me.

    JK

  • I am shocked that the McCain campaign would take America’s first line of defense against evil Russia offline for something so insignificant as a Sean Hannity interview. Keep Sarah Palin on that island staring those Ruskies down (with occasional Moose and Wolf hunting expeditions to keep those bastards in line and her shooting eye straight). We want her on that wall. We need her on that wall. I would be happy to send her my book collection to help keep her warm while she’s on guard duty on those long cold Alaskan nights.

  • Quaker in a Basement

Appearing on Hannity might be a mistake for Gov. Palin.

Hannity tends to say uninformed and outrageous things. If he blurts out something especially egregious and Gov. Palin fails to oppose or correct him, she will appear to agree with him.

    Worth watching.

  • But you can be sure they won’t go live. They’ll edit out anything even remotely negative for her.

It’s the ultimate “home court,” so to speak.

  • That scares the living b’jesuz out of me.

    JK

Am I to understand you may be rethinking your voting strategy for November, there, JK?

  • If Lipstick Palin is too chicken to interview with Rachel Maddow, how can you expect her to stand up to al Qaeda?
