Now, McCainiacs, let me ask you this: Is she FOR or AGAINST the Bush doctrine? Because I’ve listened to her answer several times and I still can’t tell for sure whether she would push the button or not. Neither could some news outlets which reported both that she supported and did not support the Bush Doctrine once it was explained to her.

Maybe she was for it before she was against it.

My wife is from “middle America” and when I go back there with her, her old friends from high school are threatened by her and my success and education. These are the people that flock to Palin- she doesn’t try to “put on airs” like going to a fancy college or talking about foreign policy.

The Bristol Palin pregnancy if anything endears them to Mrs. Palin. A good portion of my wife’s female classmates got knocked up in high school, many by “f—in rednecks”.

All of this reminds me of the Republican feedback loop:

Her overriding goal as president would be to give other zealots like herself dominion over this nation. Prayer in school, creation taught in the classroom, confrontation with the heathen nations, the constitution taking a back seat to the bible.

I hate to bring up so mundane as democracy but why won’t our government follow the will of the electorate?

BTW, the pregnant police chief in Fargo was smart, not trigger happy.

You’re dealing with a party that sees “sitting for seven minutes reading The Pet Goat instead of taking action or at least trying to find a TV set” as a sign of strength and resolve.

Watch the video of Palin’s interview again, and really look at her face. There’s a slow-boiling rage trapped in that box head that I wouldn’t want to see vented on, oh, say another country or whatnot. It is absolutely and literally terrifying that this person could have The Launch Codes™.

Funny stuff. Palin was just like the pregnant police chief in “Fargo”, except without the warmth, charm, likeability, or intelligence.
Here, someone makes a joke about “banning Harry Potter books”, so instead of defending her lame performance, the trolls start talking about Wasilla in the 1990s. Forget about advocating war with Russia.

But seriously, she scored huge with the fucking morons that are going to vote this ticket. The only question is, how’d she fare with Independents and moderates that may still be undecided. Either way, the meme that says The Media™ is out to get Sarah Palin just got an enormous shot in the arm last night.

These principles are sometimes referred to as the Bush Doctrine although the term is often used to describe other elements of Bush policy and is not universally recognized as the single concept.

This struck me as odd as well. The librarian should be an apolitical job, firing her shows Palin likely suffers from the same, ‘Loyalty over competence flaw that has plague the Bush administration.

Book banning or no, I’m just tickled pink that Sarah thinks that the town librarian has to be in the same party as her.

I’d like to think that if I were mayor of some tiny town I wouldn’t give a rat’s ass if the town librarian was a republican, as long as s/he kept the books shelved in the right order. But you know what they say about power and how it corrupts…

I also think it’s great that not only couldn’t Sarah give a cogent definition of the Bush Doctrine, she’d obviously never heard the term before in her life (”Whaddya mean, Charlie, his worldview???”)
