He pointed out in 2004, you had an unpopular war, so the Republicans bring up Swift Boats and gay marriage. In 2008, you have a debt-ridden economy and failing investment banks, un-ending military commitments overseas - so you bring in an exciting new face in the form of Sarah Palin. After continuous coverage since 2007 of Obama and McCain, she is a new factor, and with less than 2 months to go, it may give the Republicans just enough juice to carry over to Election Day. Obama and Co. need to change the game - drop the deference to McCain and how this behavior is unbecoming of him. It is not - it is who he is, and always has been. And if you need to bring things to a personal level, I have a suggestion - the Beltway Snipers. In 2002, Chief of Montgomery County Police Charles Moose was in charge of the mult-jurisdictional investigation to catch the snipers. Within a few days, McCain got on TV to urge that Moose be replaced, since progress was not meeting his standard. Thankfully, Moose was kept on the job, and the snipers were soon caught.
